We Look Back at the Standout Style in Nora Ephron’s Movies
We were seriously saddened to hear about Nora Ephron’s premature death to cancer last night. Ephron’s contributions to the film industry and popular culture over the past four decades have been enormous. How many real-life relationships have been so perfectly described as those in When Harry Met Sally? And how many faux orgasms have you overheard while out dining? Well… anyway!
Aside from offering comic relief and more ‘aww’ moments than we can count, Ephron’s work was also a sign of the times in terms of screen style. Following the release of You’ve Got Mail, we’re pretty sure most salons could whip up a Meg Ryan pixie-shag with their eyes closed. We’ll never forget this multi-talented lady (she was a writer, director, producer, and actress) and the contributions she made to the entertainment industry–as well as the trends and styles they helped spawn. Fun fact: Ephron, herself, topped Vanity Fair‘s best dressed list in 2010–prolific with amazing personal style? This lady could do no wrong.
So, from Sleepless in Seattle to Julie & Julia, here’s a peek back at some of the most memorable looks that Nora Ephron made come alive through her work. Rest in peace, Nora!
