Olivia Culpo, a 20-year-old cellist from Rhode Island (Ed. note: With great eyebrows!), was crowned Miss USA final night. She took house the crown following answering a fairly hard question from a viewer on Twitter (Rob Kardashian, whose presence on the judging panel I nevertheless cannot fairly figure out, asked the question): “Would you feel it would be fair that a transgender lady wins the Miss USA title more than a all-natural-born lady?”
It was a timely question considering Jenna Talackova, the initial transgendered person to compete in the Miss Universe Canada pageant, was initially disqualified from competing in final month’s pageant since she was not a natural born female. (Donald Trump eventually overturned the ruling and Talackova placed in the prime 12). And Culpo’s “like such as”-free answer surely helped secure her the crown:
“I do think that that would be fair, but I can recognize that individuals would be a tiny apprehensive to take that road due to the fact there is a tradition of all-natural-born females,” Culpo mentioned, according to the AP. “But today where there are so numerous surgeries and so a lot of people out there who have a want to modify for a happier life, I do accept that since I think it’s a free country.”
Apparently the Donald (and owner of the pageant) approves. “She gave a great answer,” he stated, Fox news is reporting.
And since it is impossible to talk pageant answers without having thinking about Miss South Carolina Lauren Caitlin Upton’s epic answer about why Americans can’t locate the US on a world map, here’s the complete transcript of that gem, and the video, which has been viewed more than 54 million occasions.
“I personally think, that U.S. Americans, are unable to do so, because uh, some, people out there, in our nation don’t have maps. And uh…I believe that our education like such as in South Africa, and the Iraq, everywhere like such as…and, I believe they must uh, our education more than right here, in the U.S. really should support the U.S. or must support South Africa, and should aid the Iraq and Asian countries so we will be in a position to construct up our future, for us.”
