It’s quite a Pop character, Britney, Dasha Zhukova’s choice was far from being an uninspired one. Actually, in terms of commercial turnover, Britney is very liable (her Candy’s collection is a bestseller) so whatever they do, even a Takashi Murakami makeover, Britpop will sell. It’s the tragedy, people are drawn to it like butterflies towards the pop flame. Take that, add the Rodarte wedding dress she’s wearing, her way of looking up to you from the cover and you’ve got yourself an entire psy – picture to work on for days in a row. Actually, Murakami didn’t reinvent Britney, he just took her and revealed her true Manga queen nature. This is one self – sufficient cover – it stands on its on, without needing an inside pictorial to help out explain what the editor wanted, what the stylists imagined. Britney Spears doesn’t even need her music to make people feel her. All they need is take a look at her sad expression, remember her tragic fall and they instantly melt down for BritPop. Don’t you? I did tried some wild things on my nails, when I was experimenting with different styles. I even had flames – black flames on fire red nails. That was my wildest diy manicure (now if you look at what they’re now calling extreme manicures, my “wild experiment” sounds like a cherry pie). If you’re a French fan like me (and a YSL Touche Eclat addicted), or just a classic devotee, the Y-Cone (with pearl pink and glossy white) will make your heart sing. However, looking at the pairings from the new Manicure Couture mini-collection, I’d be interested to try them all on. Especially the Belle de Nuit (plum with gold) and No 2 Rive Gauche (cherry pink and tangerine). You can find the duo of your choice at – which one would you choose? How do you explain Madonna’s sudden fash directorial debut? Caprice de star? I would definitely say so. But the truth is, the Miu Miu Fall Winter 2010 2011 Ad Campaign gets pretty highlighted because of that! Said to be actually contracted to do the job, Mert and Marcus, were in the middle of shooting the Miu Miu film when, accidentally, Madonna walked in.

Surprise! And because she doesn’t have anything better to do with her time (and because nobody can refuse her Madgesty), Madonna offered to do the Miu Miu job herself, pro bono. So she took the camera and rolled away! And this is what we have: (doesn’t it feel like a music video?)

Here’s one thing fashion hounds and thrift-store junkies can agree on: Housing Works preview sales are off-the-hook. The semi-annual events are basically a big excuse for each of the do-gooder chain’s ten locations to restock their fashion, furniture, and art offerings — all of which are then sold at a fraction of their retail price, with proceeds benefiting homeless folks living with HIV and AIDS. The fall festivities kick off September 8 at HW’s Chelsea location and continue through September 30, but we scored a sneak peek at some of the designer stuff that’ll be up for grabs.
