Great news, Hunger Games fans: nail polish organization China Glaze is set to release a collection based on the über-common book series-turned-film franchise!

Dubbed Colours of the Capitol, the collection will include 12 shades, each and every inspired by one particular of the districts of Panem. The collection will launch on March 1st in order to coincide with the release of The Hunger Games movie on March 23rd. Each limited-edition polish will retail for $ 7 and be readily available at China Glaze retailers like ULTA and Sally Beauty Provide.

Grazia dropped by the Dior studio last night for a handful of Haribos and a sneak preview of the collection with designer Bill Gaytten. A huge bag of sweets confident assists to humanize a enterprise exactly where the samples are all a sylph-like size four and absolutely nothing expenses much less than dinner for 6 at The Fat Duck. Gaytten’s collection for Spring / Summer 2012 has none of the excesses of the universally panned Pierrot collection which was his first solo outing last July. Shown ’At Home’ in the pale grey salons of Dior HQ, it is a lesson in the classics. Bar jackets, full skirted cocktail dresses with cinched waists and physique skimming shifts.

‘It’s an x ray vision of Dior,’ Gaytten told me. ‘You can see the construction of all the dresses via layers of delicate fabric.’

To the casual observer there was nothing extraordinary about any of it: no wild excesses at all. But (and this is the beauty of couture) get closer and you recognize that what you believe is lace is actually organza painted by hand to appear like lace what you feel is embossed leather is truly individual scales of crocodile embroidered onto silk. And the sweeping skirt of a ballgown has so many vertical and horizontal pleats that the pattern looks like the plan for a Norman Forster building than a thing that is most likely to turn out to be some lucky girls wedding dress.

Designer’s come and go. The couture ateliers of houses like Dior are anchored so firmly, they can survive the tumult. And how is the sanguine Mr Gaytten surviving the storm? ‘I am super organized, fully programmed. I do what I am told.’

TOD’S have just revealed the teaser clip for a new film which showcases a new collection inspired by Jefferson Hack. Yes, the founder of Dazed and Confused magazine has turned his hand to design. We heard rumours that he was generating a footwear collection numerous seasons ago, but a collaboration with TOD’S makes far a lot more sense. The idea is to make the best shoe for each males and girls, and judging by the footage and imagery, Jefferson and TOD’S are the excellent match. Based on a classic desert boot, but far much more sophisticated, the lace-up suede or leather shoes are accessible in a small range of colours, and will be officially unveiled during Couture Week on January 23^rd, with a specific launch party.

And on a side note, in a single of the quite images of the quite girl in the quite shoes, her suede shirt is washable! That is washable suede, men and women. Washable suede!! God we adore TOD’S!
