Welcome to the new Geek Chic column! I’m on a mission to prove that an appreciation of fashion and a really like of all issues geeky need to have not be mutually exclusive passions. This column seeks to draw sartorial inspiration from the science fiction, fantasy, and comic book genres: whilst we may not be able to live out the adventures of time travelers, superheroes, hobbits, or space pioneers, we can undoubtedly take some fashion cues from them!
For my very first post, I’m going to concentrate on the ultimate icon of geekdom: Star Trek. Whilst I really like the campiness of the original 1960s Television series, there’s no denying the major style and hotness factor of the 2009 reboot, starring Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, and Zoe Saldana.

Following the thrilling announcement that Stella McCartney is poised to re-join the London Fashion Week roster as nicely as McQ, the diffusion line from Alexander McQueen, comes the equally thrilling news that for the 1st time ever, Moschino Inexpensive And Chic will show in London next season too!
That’s right, fash fans, Moschino’s sister line is moving from its typical spot on Milan’s Fashion Week schedule and coming to our fair capital. The venue is nevertheless to be announced but we do know that the Autumn/Winter 2012 collection will be shown on Saturday, 18th February between 1.30pm-3.30pm. EEEP. Meanwhile, the Moschino principal line collection will show in the course of Milan Fashion Week as usual.

Moschino Cheap & Chic and Belstaff to show at London Fashion Week
London Fashion Week gains but a lot more support this season as two new designers have been added to the currently busy schedule.
It really is been announced today that Moschino will be showing its younger line, Affordable & Chic on Saturday February 18th, although leisurewear brand Belstaff will show on February 19th.
London has extended been the (spiritual, if not physical) house of younger, much more inventive designers, so it makes sense that Low-cost & Chic (pictured above) would move here. The young-at-heart diffusion line willl fit perfectly into the schedule alongside other cool and quirky labels like Meadham Kirchoff and Basso & Brooke.
As creative director Rossella Jardini said, “London is renowned for its contemporary style and well-known sense of humor producing it the ideal spot to exhibit Moschino Inexpensive and Chic’s DNA and power.
Style Hunter: Cocoon Coat = Instant Chic!
Aurelia’s Rolando Rochetti cocoon camel coat is so chic it nearly hurts a little. We adore the way she’s given a traditionally grown-up type of overcoat a small ferocity – with her Alexander Wang clutch, Maison Martin Margiela pointy boots and some leather gloves.
