Chanel Wine? Karl Lagerfeld Takes His Touch to the Bottle

We drank the Karl Koolaid a extended time ago, but apparently we can really sip the fine wine. And whilst we have often coveted all things Chanel, we only lately identified out that the iconic fashion residence in fact runs its own winery. Chateau Rauzan-Segla, which was founded in 1661 by Pierre de Rauzan, is situated in the heart of the Margaux appellation the vineyard was acquired by Chanel in 1994.
This season, Château Rauzan-Ségla is launching its 2009 vintage Grand Cru Classé, which has a gorgeous Karl Lagerfeld designed label. This chic collaboration comes at an thrilling time for the winery, which is celebrating its 350th anniversary this year. To capture the milestone, Lagerfeld brought his iconic touch to the bottle with a charming drawing of the Château.
The Grand Cru Classé will retail for $ 129 when it hits retailers in March.

Jessica Stam’s Harper’s Bazaar Australia March 2012
Last we talked about Jessica Stam, she was proudly showing her new hair color. Jessica Stam, the forever blond is now a brunette. If we’re to believe that early hair – report!
Harper’s Bazaar Australia’s March 2012 shows us the very same Jessica Stam, same ethereal blond charm, wearing a effectively suited flowery lace Vuitton dress on the cover. The inside pictorial was styled by Jillian Davison and Christine Centenera, her hair was carried out by Teddy Charles and the makeup was executed by Mickael Noiselet. Victor Demarchelier signs the flawless photographic perform. (click via for much more check out the gallery right here)

She’s even wearing that Prada bodysuit we’ve seen Daria in on the cover of Vogue Paris. Did you know it was $ 8,900 (if they’re talking Australian Dollars, which I imagine they are, then count $ ten,257 US Dollars at the present rate exchange)? There’s a more affordable body, also by Prada, also in Jessica’s Harper’s pictorial – the green a single – $ 6,900 – $ 7,200, US value! I loved the Chanel dress! (discover the $ 12,550 value tag: $ 13,137 US)

Hautelinks: Week of 1/26/12

In case you haven’t been following couture week, Chanel held their show this past week, and even though the clothes had been incredible, the show’s setting was even moreso…. It was held on a plane. Yes, an AIRPLANE. Oh, Chanel, we really like you.
The 1st commercial for Jason Wu’s Target line is out and we adore almost everything about it! How cute is that kitten?
The Frisky debates the jeggings trend. Personally, I’m pro-jegging most of the time. What about you?
Chanel Haute Couture Spring 2012: Nothing But Blue Skies
Long Nguyen is the co-founder/style director of Flaunt.
PARIS–Walking up a modest steel circular staircase to a single of the halls inside the Grand Palais on Tuesday morning to the Chanel couture show, none of us had any idea that soon after passing through a lengthy silver corridor we would be inside an precise replica of an A380 (company class, of course). Unlike the several spectacular settings at prior Chanel couture shows–the Place Vendôme or the giant golden lion–this time the audience became portion of the set. There had been even flight attendants serving a selection of water, mango juice and champagne.
The setting (complete with a skylight with blue sky and clouds above) emphasized a spring couture collection imbued with the feeling of lightness. Every single model walked by with each hands tucked nonchalantly into the little pockets seams–a new attitude in couture. And that’s no straightforward feat–to convey a sense of lightness and even casualness although wearing beaded and embroidered couture clothes. We tend to believe of couture overly created, heavy–pieces that are excellent on the runway or in a magazine editorial but unrealistic for today’s ladies. Not so at this show.
In keeping with the strict weight limits for checked luggage on flights these days (constantly a little humor from Mr. Lagerfeld), even the embroidery operate on the evening dresses seemed a lot lighter than in prior seasons. The feeling of lightness was helped by blue mood lighting about the plane windows and streaming by way of the skylight, which served to emphasize the fully blue palette of the collection.
The embroideries were as subtle as they had been sophisticated. They demonstrated the operate of the skilled craftspeople at the métiers d’arts like the embroider Lesage and the jeweler Goosens–all part of the higher Chanel family members. I fairly like the layered petal dress created with blue/grey beads with grey/black trims. It is the type of dress I could see the actress Vanessa Paradis (seated in 15E I believe) wearing.
Karl Lagerfeld Gives the 2009 CHANEL Owned Chateau Rauzan-Segla Wine Label a Fashionable Look
Who knew: Chanel owns a celebrated winery at the entrance to the village of Margaux which was founded in 1661 by Pierre de Rauzan. Generations of Rauzans then helped develop the reputation of the brand to the point where it became 1 of the most highly-rated in Bordeaux, enticing a steady stream of jet-setting guests over the years, including Thomas Jefferson.
After acquiring the estate in 1994, Chanel hired New York architect Peter Marino to restore the château to its original 1903 splendor, which contains a lush park and green spaces filled with 100 year old plane trees, climbing rose bushes, hydrangeas, blond Bourg stone and verdant lawns.
To celebrate its 350th anniversary, the winery had Kaiser Karl design the label for the 2009 vintage, a crisp & delicate Margaux which Robert Parker lauded as extraordinary and possibly their greatest wine considering that the 1986. Though this wealthy, silky and sophisticated Grand Cru Classé won’t be for sale till March, it can now be pre-ordered for $ 129.
New Couture Shows: Chanel, Armani Privé, and More
