Give Your Inner Rock Chick Something Girlie to Go on
When you appear past the bold print & fabulous foofiness of the skirt, you see it is in fact a wardrobe classic – a feminine full skirt with nipped-in waist – in disguise! The blue leopard print is what makes it feel so fresh & up-do-date. Add a ideal drapey modal tee, some studded heels & bag & a denim jacket in an acid wash round out the balance of difficult-meets-tender.

David Beckham’s Bodywear H&M Super Bowl Video Commercial
H & M proudly presents David Beckham’s Bodywear collection commercial which will air in the course of the 2nd quarter of the Super Bowl XLVI. Essentially it’s about a (renowned) man in his undies. 30 seconds of filming him from (nearly) each angle.
And because, let’s not forget, it is the Super Bowl, there’ll be a testosterone overcharge surrounding the stadium and the Tv sets at residence, the very good H & M folks played Animals’ “Please do not let me be misunderstood”. What’s there to miss/ recognize, anyway? (oh, and after the jump – a great minute and a half with David Beckham‘s behind the scenes footage!)

Sneak Peek: More Marni for H&M

A reader tipped us off to an editorial in this month’s Vogue Russia featuring a whole lotta Marni for H&M. The collection doesn’t hit stores in the US until March 8, and so far the hype for the collection hasn’t reached the exact same level it did for Versace for H&M–but it’s nonetheless early. We saw an ad for the collection final week featuring ‘it-girl’ actress Imogen Poots and according to Vogue UK, the full campaign hits February 8. But based on what we’ve noticed in this Vogue Russia spread, shot by Robert Wyatt and styled by Kimi O’Neill, a frenzy will surely ensue–especially for that color-blocked orange PVC best, those hot pink shorts, and those amazing statement accessories.

Spring & Clifton for Reformation
Photo: the Reformation
Last summer, in Montauk, Reformation designer Yael Aflalo was hanging out with Spring & Clifton designer Michelle Zacks and the two discovered a mutual enjoy of some thing unlikely: Bajas.
Both hail from California, exactly where they’d grown up watching surfers hop out of the water and throw Bajas over their board shorts. The colorful toppers, which hail from south of the border, may be enjoyable to appear at but they’re far from flattering. Enter Reformation. The Lower East Side brand’s currently mastered the art of re-operating fabric, so why not this 1? Together, Aflalo and Zacks paired Baja fabric with buttery leather for a capsule collection of hot pants, mini skirts and leather paneled jackets starting at a really affordable $ 105.
“We took Michele’s idea of carrying out bajas and fit them with zippers so they’re not boxy and weird they’re genuinely comfortable [and] all various simply because they are all repurposed,” said Reformation’s Maria Matis. You can snag the pieces at Reformation’s (newly expanded) boutique at 156 Ludlow Street, or on the web!
Natalia Vodianova’s Stella McCartney Spring Summer 2012 Ad Campaign
And one more model who’s keeping it tight beneath the fashion radar! (final I bear in mind we had been talking about her divorce & a lot more, weren’t we?) Natalia Vodianova is this Spring Summer 2012 ad campaign spokesperson for Stella McCartney.
The ad campaign falls in this season’s trends with delicate flowers all around – except for the clothing. It’s an fascinating way of showcasing the collection, in a 70s mood, with a small assist from Mert and Marcus – I’m having a hard time concentrating on the clothes, although – am I the only one particular? Oh, and Natalia with sunglasses on is totally unrecognizable – is it the fringe, the campaign pose?
