Sunday night is the 84th Academy Awards, and stars will be pulling out all the stops for their Oscars red carpet moment. The night never ever fails to bring us a handful of fashion surprises, but a single thing we can guarantee is that you will have an amazing night if you enjoy glamorous gowns!
On Sunday, team Catwalk Queen will be having a tiny Oscars party of our own, livetweeting the red carpet and updating the internet site as soon as the photos come in so you can see the gowns for oneself.
In my function as resident Oscars specialist, I usually predict what I believe folks will wear, and while they usually pull a thing new and thrilling out of the bag to prove me incorrect, it really is still fun to guess.

A is for Academy Awards
The Academy Awards is undoubtedtly the biggest awards show on the red carpet calendar and thus the most glamorous. Film stars from across the globe flock to Hollywood’s Kodak Theatre to celebrate the year’s best performances, dressed in their very best couture. Designers clamour to dress nominees and presenters, as the publicity is worth millions.

It is the most wonderful time of the year. Yes yes, Christmas is long gone, but awards season is well underway so let the frock fest continue! Next quit, the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards this Sunday and, of course, Grazia Every day is eagerly anticipating the gowns our favourite fashionistas will be rocking on the red carpet.

GUESS WHO Will Turn On Stella McCartney’s Christmas Lights this Year??
Stella McCartney has had one heck of a good year in 2011. Each of her catwalk shows is more rapturously received than the last, her dresses keep popping up on every red carpet going – (Hello Kate Winslet) as well as those lust-worthy Autumn Winter 2011 evening gowns with the dotty sheer panels. 2012 looks set to be even more epic, as the Brit designer sees her name splashed over the Olympics as well as a couple of other new outposts slated for next year.
Recent announcements that she will be showing a mini collection at London Fashion Week in the New Year and that there will also be a ‘World of Stella’ pop-up at Selfridges in January, followed by the opening of a new flagship store in South Kensington, to include the first standalone Stella Kids store. Blimey. We wonder if the woman ever sits down at all!

In the latest issue of Grazia, we ask who’s your filmspiration. Whether it’s Grace Kelly’s prom-style dresses, Marilyn Monroe’s pencil skirts or Jean Shrimpton’s backcombed hair – this season’s biggest trends have walked directly off the screen. And our fascination with Wallis Simpson has been reignited thanks to ‘W.E’, Madonna’s directorial debut.
In the film, Andrea Riseborough plays Ms Simpson, the woman who nearly brought down the royal family when, in 1936, she fell in love with King Edward and caused him to – gasp! – abdicate. Andrea looks exquisite in tea dresses, skirt suits, furs and jewels galore. Madonna herself has worked the ‘40s trend for every recent red carpet appearance but what of Ms Riseborough?

It’s the showbiz story gripping America – the shock news that US reality star Kim Kardashian is divorcing her husband Kris Humphries after just 72 days of marriage. In this week’s issue of Grazia, we ask whether it was a genuine relationship or whether Kim has conned as all. One thing’s for sure, Kim is doing her best to tell the world that it really WAS genuine. How? With a wardrobe transformation, of course. In the past couple of weeks, we’ve seen her covering up more than usual, draping her famous curves in neutral colours rather than flash-tastic brights. Teamed with a downcast expression and subtle(r) make-up, she looks (whisper it) almost dreary.
At her handbag launch in Australia last week, Kim wore a peach snakeskin blouse by Aryn K that’s so demure, it could’ve come straight from her mother’s wardrobe. Admittedly, she flaunted her pins in a lace-trimmed skirt (from the Kardashian Kollection, natch) but it’s more cutsey than sexy, dontcha think? Similarly, the Isabel Marant dress covered in fringing sends out a very sensible I-didn’t-marry-him-for-money message. Is anyone else reminded of Lindsay Lohan and her uncharacteristically prim outfits for the courtroom? See, an outfit really can say a thousand words.

Who’s this then? Amber Heard’s Style

Amber Heard isn’t a name we were much acquainted with up until recently; and so following on from Emma Stone and Emma Roberts’ footsteps before her (Emma overload!), this actress’ sudden burst onto the Fashion For Lunch radar is much to do with a promotional film circuit going on. Amber stars alongside Johnny Depp in upcoming movie The Rum Diary, and as such is currently busy selecting red carpet appearance gowns as she tours the junket every week. What we like most about Heard is her natural consistency; knowing what suits her best- floaty column shapes, a fitted waistband and some detail trailing the back. She’s quite old school glamour, but with a natural capacity to take in the modern details too. Here’s our new leading fashion lady wearing Roksanda Illincic, Alessandra Rich and as seen last night, in navy Stella McCartney.
