Rihanna designs her second collection for Emporio Armani
It appears that each singer has a designer inside of them just itching to get out these days, does not it? We’ve drooled more than productive ventures (Victoria Beckham) reserved our opinions more than the not so effectively received (Kanye West) and now we’re bracing ourselves for Rihanna’s second attempt at a creative outlet outside of the pop world. The singer, who previously developed a modestly sized capsule collection for Emporio Armani, is moving onto her second collection with the Italian brand, whom she has modelled for on numerous campaigns. Rihanna’s very first pieces were relatively successful, and it is nice to see that Emporio are sticking by the 24-year-old in her foray into the fashion planet.
In correct Rihanna style, the garments have a grungy influence, with tartan turn ups and distressed denim. The shapes are equivalent to her final collection and should as a result sell just as nicely – the slouchy t-shirts will undoubtedly fly out when they ultimately hit shops. According to Fashionista, underwear will be a comfortable affair made from stretch cotton and ranging from a vest and shorts set to some glittery push-up bras.

So Rihanna is, once more, stepping out in an all – jeans look. Which turned out wonderful the final time we checked. Only this time it’s various. She’s not only matching 3 distinct varieties of denim, but she’s also doing it in a way I’ve never ever observed (or thought of) prior to!
Fashion Week is nothing compared to this: sticking your shirt deep down in your pants is a geek issue. But not when the shirt in question is arm – knotted around your waist, it is not! I’ve observed some crazy layering until now, but this? Rihanna is boldly going where no one has gone prior to. In my style thoughts. Really should I operate tougher to expand my style horizon? Rihanna Made a Couple of Outfits for Armani
As the face (body?) of Armani denim and panties, the singer also gets to design a few items of clothing for them, an honor that is not bestowed on every celebrity Armani model. The pieces in this Rihanna collection include just two T-shirts, two pairs of jeans, a black leather biker jacket, a bag, and bra-and-panty sets in two colors. So that’s just about enough to make two whole outfits — maybe more, depending on whether or not you like to wear your underwear as outerwear, like Rihanna has been known to do. The line goes on sale this month.
Fashion News: Beyonce’s wedding gown revealed in new video
Beyonce married Jay-Z three years ago but only now are details about her wedding gown coming out — thanks to the video for her live performance of “I Was Here,” released this week, which contains a montage of events from her life, including the wedding. It’s a strapless, kind of poufy dress reminiscent of the one Carrie Bradshaw wore in the first “Sex and the City” movie. It was designed by her mom, Tina Knowles, shown with the singer, above, with some of their House of Dereon clothing line. [Us]
Speaking of Jay-Z, he was named GQ magazine’s Man of the Year at an awards gala in Los Angeles on Thursday night. Other honorees included Jimmy Fallon, Justin Timberlake and Michael Fassbender. [Huffington Post] [Telegraph]

Balmain Spring 2012
It wasn’t only my first Balmain presentation; it was new head designer Olivier Rousteing’s too.
The (rather cute) designer didn’t take the Parisian fashion house too far away from its rock n’ roll roots for this Spring 2012 collection, much to the relief of Kate Moss, Rihanna and Alex Gerrard.
We saw plenty of gold-studded, fringed and embellished details on leather jackets, second-skin mini dresses, tops and short leather skirts.
These looks were presented on a colour palette of black, light-wash denim, ice white, silver and gold.

Rihanna is causing quite a stir in the New Lodge area of Belfast, Northern Ireland as she shoots her new music video for her next hit ‘We Found Love’, which features Calvin Harris.

D&G Spring 2012
Yesterday I attended my first and final D&G presentation. Sadly, this Spring 2012 collection will be the last D&G collection as the designers will be focusing on strengthening and expanding their signature line.
Dolce & Gabbana’s kid sister went out with a bang.
Bold, contrasting prints dominated the runway of this glamorous, feminine collection which is the most colourful, eclectic and fun presentation I’ve seen this Fashion Week.

JoAnn Berman is not merely a fashion force, but a full-fledged wrecking ball. She has overthrown the guidelines of fashion and has built a career of producing outrageous, striking clothing, which includes garments for Puff Daddy (before he was Diddy), Salt-n-Pepa, Heavy D, Rihanna, and the Michael Jackson video, “Jam”. Berman lately opened her Williamsburg shop, Thug Mama, where she sells her spectacular creations as effectively as custom furniture. We sat down with Berman and discussed her star struck moment with Heavy D, Studio 54, and her upcoming collection.
