Think it or not, there was a small glamour to be discovered outside of Cannes this week. Rachel Bilson produced a welcome return to the red carpet at The CW upfronts in Chanel (and, yes, Heart of Dixie has been picked up for a second season). Kristen Stewart has been hunting very good, if painfully awkward at SWATH premieres. And the verdict is nevertheless up in the air with regards to Jessica Stam’s dark hair, but she looked fairly great in red Valentino at the American Ballet Theater opening gala on Monday. This is why I love style. A horrible faux pas can be turned into a thing chic and fashionable by a single trendsetter in a second flat. Take leather bottoms for example: What utilized to come to mind was Russell Brand and numerous ’80s hair metal musicians jammed into as well-tight leather pants. But if you ask us about leather bottoms these days, we think of Rachel Bilson seeking adorable on Hart of Dixie in a pair of leather shorts with a tailored jacket.
Of course, right here at CF, we stay away from real leather whenever feasible, and are as a result loving the fake leather versions of these shorts. We really like the look (and value tag) of fake leather bottoms with a plain white tee, fitted jacket, and bold accents. We specifically enjoy the juxtaposition of a feminine blouse or dainty jewelry with these rocker shorts. Even so, we can not help but ponder if this look will last or be a short-lived summer time fad.

Rachel Bilson Talks To WWD About ShoeMint
Hart of Dixie actress Rachel Bilson is a fashion darling adored by most designers, notably Karl Lagerfeld, who nabbed her as face of Magnum Ice Cream last year. Bilson has been on a gazillion red carpets (hyperbole, of course) and loves fashion. This fueled a collaboration with several designers, including DKNY and Edie Rose. Bilson is taking her love of designing to a whole new level by taking a project of her own. Last last year, she added footwear designer to her resume by launching ShoeMint, an online shoe subscription site that allows users to buy shoes monthly at a price of $ 80.
ShoeMint is a collaboration between Bilson and her stylist, Nicole Chavez, who together come up with inspirations, designs and concepts of each shoe. Steve Madden then works closely with them to create the footwear to be sold under the ShoeMint brand. Bilson was interviewed by Wayne Niemi for Women’s Wear Daily yesterday.
