The August issues were pleasantly plump leading into September, the biggest, most important month of the year for fashion magazines. Some of the season’s hottest items are already apparent. They include Chanel’s faux fur suit, which Kristen McMenamy wears in Dazed & Confused, and Yves St. Laurent’s new Tribute Pumps with little horse manes sticking out the heels, which Drew Barrymore wears in Elle. Black & White Summer Chic
This stylish woman was recently photographed in New York, showing how to beat the summer swelter in style. Black & white is always a crisply-chic & winning combo, with touches of gold for interest and some of the season’s peep-toe booties to keep the look fresh. You probably already have a simple black tank in your closet (and if not, why not?) – but if you’re not into putting your upper arms on display, a classic jersey tee like this one by Alexander Wang would work just as well. Just be sure to keep the city shorts unfussy and the length appropriate, and the bag understated (we’re mad for this Mulberry Bayswater in off-white ostrich).

Men’s Spring Summer 2010 collection represents Filippa K AB in its casually relaxed approach to men’s dressing – to play around and to mix and match the different pieces for an individual look. There is a balance of classic tailoring and modern styling, where the garments have a softer and more drapey yet elegant cut. New basics feel more important than ever, ranging from the perfectly cut chino and the modern fit polo shirt to the sporty nylon jacket and the timeless car coat.
Florida of the 1980’s with its easy-going mood and breezy feel has been a major source of inspiration.
