Black, who wrote Milk and wrote for HBO’s Huge Love, drew on his Mormon upbringing for Virginia, the story of a schizophrenic single mother (Connelly) getting an affair with a married Mormon sheriff (Ed Harris) who is running for state senate.
Harris (whose true-life spouse, Amy Madigan, portrays his wife in Virginia) has co-starred with Connelly in 4 films, like A Beautiful Thoughts, for which she won an Oscar. “Ed’s such a talented actor I would work with him on any film,” mentioned Connelly. “I think he’s amazing.” Connelly will also reunite with her A Stunning Mind co-star Russell Crowe, when shooting starts this summer time on Noah (Her Requiem for a Dream director, Darren Aronofsky, will helm the ark-creating drama, due out in 2014).

Other need to-haves for Walsh contain antihistamine eye drops, frozen coffee grounds for depuffing swollen eyes—and Clé de Peau concealer. “I get a tiny red about my nose due to the fact of all the nose-blowing, and it actually assists,” she says. “It’s a stick and not a liquid, so it gives fantastic coverage. It is also yellow-based, which is very good for neutralizing redness.” While red is an undesirable color around her nose, Walsh loves it for her hair and lips: “You know, a lot of folks say redheads shouldn’t put on a red lip, but I do not believe that is accurate. There’s this bright, orange-y red shade by Tom Ford called Wild Ginger that I’m truly into at the moment.”
As for her famously fiery tresses, Walsh says her color is less red than usual, due to time in the sun and water. “It’s holiday hair!” she says. “I’m on hiatus from Private Practice appropriate now, so I was in the Caribbean. I utilized a couple of great hair protectants, one particular by Rene Furterer and yet another by Kérastase, but salt water fades color swiftly.” Luckily, Walsh’s longtime colorist—Christopher Pierce of the Andy LeCompte Salon in Los Angeles—has taken fading into account. “My base color is much more of a golden brown, and we’ve made a conscious choice to keep the red in that range so that when it fades, it looks a lot more natural,” says Walsh.
