If the CFDA Awards are the Oscars of style, The Met Gala is the prom. It’s all about who’s going with whom. The annual occasion, which celebrates a yearly fashion-centric exhibit at The Costume Institute of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, is co-hosted by Vogue Magazine and fashion royalty attends accordingly. I feel it’s safe to say that this was my favorite Fashion Week show so far. Michael Kors Fall Winter 2012 2013 had every little thing running: belts, leather, wool, fur, tartan, the proper colors and the excellent cuts that’ll turn this collection into a sellout! Wearable, bourgeois, resort – appropriate and youthful! Victoria Beckham was rightfully wearing tartan the other day – belt your tartan, ladies, and you’re in the hip crowd subsequent fall! Michael Kors catwalk was best, the collection in itself was charming, there was just one particular flaw to it! (yes, I’m aware how that sounds right after I declares my adore for both the clothes and the shoes!)
So, the flaw: it was a white catwalk. With just one particular exception: Jourdan Dunn! She’s lovely, alright, but she does not make up for the lack of black or Asian models. Texture ruled Michael Kors’ Fall 2012 runway with a collection that was each cozy and chic. Kors went for a rugged elegance with yummy blanket coats, skirts, and ponchos juxtaposed against soft satin and lace. Playing with his signature palette of camel, black, chocolate, ivory, red, and gray, Kors utilized a selection of fabrics to develop a special balance leather, tweed and mohair had been expertly sculpted. For evening, Kors introduced midi-cocktail dresses alongside liquid gowns.
It’s been a large year for the brand and Wall Street needn’t worry—Kors delivered yet another stellar collection that women are certain to covet.
