Press Preview: All Saints Autumn / Winter 2012
It’s been a busy old time here at Catwalk Queen HQ, with everybody holding their Autumn / Winter 2012 previews inside a matter of days. Alongside Matalan and Urban Outfitters, which we’ve shown you this week, we also popped down to check out what All Saints has in store for us next season.
Often believed as of a enjoy them or hate them sort of a brand, when it comes to All Saints I’m in the 1st camp in my eyes they can do no wrong. Their new Autumn / Winter collection, for those fellow fans out there, does not disappoint. As usual a wide array of styles, shapes and textures were on provide channelling their usual brand of relaxed casual cool. Going down a sturdy military route for Autumn / Winter 2012, their outerwear was a definite strong point feel numerous khaki toned shades in structured ultra-wearable shapes adorned with pocket, button and collar detailing. Shearling fur textures made an appearance on collars and gillets as did tartan draping.
Dresses and tops took the usual draped formation that we’ve come to expect from All Saints in loose knits and straightforward to put on jerseys. These were contrasted with the hard edged broken down leather textures we’ve come to know and love from the brand. Graphic abstract prints were threaded cleverly all through the collection in complementary muted tones adding one more dimension whilst evening put on took an ultra-embellished form in dresses, skirts, tops and clutch bags.

Central Saint Martins Fall 2012: The Most Memorable Looks
If you are going to see a student show, Central Saint Martins is the one to see, and this is the show that kicked off London fashion week for me. Louise Wilson, who according to the Telegraph, is in her 20th year as course director of the esteemed style school, sent 18 graduating MA fashion student collections down the catwalk.
CSM has churned out some of the greatest talent in British fashion (Alexander McQueen and Christopher Kane, among several other folks), so the student work is pretty celebrated–and scrutinized. But CSM alums Roksanda Ilincic and Gareth Pugh were there to assistance them, and so were a lot of proud family members members. Stella on starting out…
I wanted to have a company. I believe what inspired me was that individuals about me really liked my clothes and it seemed like there wasn’t stuff like that out there at that time. My guidance would be to function difficult, there’s no way of avoiding it you have to perform hard and be committed and be true to yourself. Do not try to be cool if you are not cool, do not try and do sports if it does not come naturally to you – just be totally correct to yourself and men and women will respond to that.

Olympia Le-Tan Launches New Italian Cinema-Inspired Collection for Pitti W; Will Launch Apparel for Fall 2012
“I rather like to see somebody I do not know wearing my bag in the street and I have no thought how they got it,” Olympia Le-Tan said at the press conference before the presentation of the new collection of bags she’d developed as the unique guest of Pitti W, the smaller women’s counterpart to Florence’s famed menswear trade show, Pitti Uomo. “Of course, it’s good when Natalie Portman is wearing one at a premiere, too,” she added.
Le-Tan, who began her style profession beneath Gilles Dufour at Chanel at just 19, has earned the adoration of fashion insiders like Sofia Coppola and Olivier Zahm for each her hand-crafted book clutches and her DJ capabilities at Paris hot spot Le Baron.
