Eyelets Beef Up for Spring

Last spring’s whiteout has turned a new leaf for 2012, taking things one step further courtesy of some dainty collections filled with oversized eyelets. Whether bleached or colorful, the pattern picked up on this season’s feminine vibe and was often accompanied by defined brows and kicky accessories. Derek Lam took a graphic approach, cinching his Cubist eyelet with a western tooled belt. Giambattista Valli and Louis Vuitton both took to oversized daisies—Valli’s embellished with marabou feathers and rhinestone trims. Luisa Beccaria’s was tiered into a boho frenzy while Miuccia Prada’s was pastel, and Preen’s was lined in neon pink.
