Fashion Is Funny: A Look Back at Saturday Night Live‘s Best Fashion Impersonations
We may possibly or may possibly not have shed a tear in the course of Kristen Wiig’s “Ruby Tuesday” send-off that capped this weekend’s Saturday Night Reside season finale. They might not often be the most realistic, but we actually like believing that Donatella Versace and her bevy of desirable, shirtless men in fact did watch the Super Bowl with the Beckhams. The Olsens prepare to launch Superga shoe collection
Fans of the Olsen twins will be overjoyed to hear that they will soon be launching their new shoe collection with Superga at Harvey Nichols.
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen had been offered their new roles as creative directors for the brand final September to help celebrate the company’s 100th birthday. As portion of their appointment they also announced they would style a capsule shoe range under their personal fashion label The Row.
According to Harvey Nichols buyer, Ida Petersson, the sneaker range has been designed from cashmere and comprises of three different colours – black, navy and grey. Each shoe style features The Row logo and are priced at £250 a pop, not exactly for the budget-wise.

With Olsen twins Mary-Kate and Ashley now topping US Vogue’s Best Dressed List, FFL’s thoughts turn back to the girls’ two hugely successful fashion lines. On the whole I prefer Elizabeth & James for it’s accessible and more fashion-ey stuff, but you have to admire the craftmanship they’ve gone for with The Row- not just the gall to charge the prices they do, but having the ability to back it all up also. The aesthetic, mostly popularised by Mary-Kate (though Ashley complements the look too!), is pure New York grunge: Starbucks cup clutched in manicured hands…clompy boots, gothic maxis, and luxurious yet slouchy cashmere all featuring as afterthought. This coat is the perfect example: soft wool and belted, but with a chiffon back to vary things a bit. It’d be fun to layer over colour in the winter, when coats can sometimes hinder your best fashion efforts. Girls, you’re really just too clever aren’t you!
The Olsen Twins Got Their Very First Vogue Cover
It’s time for Vogue‘s annual “Best Dressed” issue, a supplement full of pretty people wearing clothes for you to judge. This year’s theme is “Dynamic Duos,” better known as sisters, including the Olsen twins, Kate and Pippa Middleton, Elle and Dakota Fanning, and Beyoncé and Solange Knowles. After all, these women all have not one, but two wardrobes of nice designer clothes to choose from, giving them an advantage when it comes to dressing themselves. Mary-Kate and Ashley are on the cover, which is a first for them of sorts, as they’ve never landed Vogue before (unlike last year’s “Best Dressed” cover girl, Blake Lively).
