Vogue’s Newsstand Sales Are Up This Year, Unlike Nearly Every Other Fashion Magazine
WWD called Anna Wintour a musketeer today, and that’s a good thing. With new sales figures in, she’s “riding high” again (alongside Vanity Fair‘s Graydon Carter and the New Yorker‘s David Remnick). The Audit Bureau of Circulations released data on newsstand sales through October of this year — Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, InStyle and Marie Claire all dropped between 10 to 14 percent from their previous year’s figures, with Glamour taking the biggest hit at a drop of 17 percent. Vogue‘s numbers are up (the only fashion title in the ever-fashionable black) by 7 percent. As WWD notes, that’s a 17 percent difference, in the magazine’s favor, from any of its competitors.
Beyonce will launch MATERNITY WEAR with House of Dereon!
beyoncé

Beyonce has the world’s designers at her fingertips (just think of the number of pieces she goes through in her videos) yet now she’s pregnant, she’s decided to make her own clothes in a maternity range to become available thorugh her own brand, House of Dereon. This is awesome news for expectant mums who are also fans of slashed-back dresses and animal print trousers, y’all!
The fact that Beyonce causes a commotion wherever she goes didn’t prepare the world for the news last month that her latest creation will be . . . a baby! Twitter went into a global meltdown, the MTV awards were more excited than when Lady Gaga arrived in an egg, and the fashion world went into a tailspin, trying to think of garments fierce enough for the lady Beyonce, which could also accommodate her burgeoning bump!

Lady Gaga’s Harper’s Bazaar October 2011
For some reason, the world just canât get enough of Lady Gaga. With or without makeup, her clothes on or off, Lady Gaga is simply interesting. Lady Gaga sells.
What sheâs selling this time, with the October 2011 issue of Harperâs Bazaar? No makeup. A free makeup look from Lady Gaga is a rare sight, especially in a (fashion and lifestyle) magazine! Not to mention she had a little help from Inez and Vinoodh (sheâs even photographed with Inez, looking strikingly similar), so even if she doesnât wear any makeup or any other heavily theatrical makeovers, Lady Gaga can still be artsy and pretty fancy. And also be walking down the street right now without anybody knowing who she is. Would you recognize Gaga if she gave up all her stage like looks? (oh, and just in case, you can also read her HB interview here)
