Top 10 fashion trends of 2011
In 2011, fashion was much more accessible than ever prior to. The world’s newest fashion icon and royal, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, was photographed shopping at affordable chain stores. Designers talked directly to fans on TV and Twitter, and sold cheap chic collections on EBay, at H&M, Target and Macy’s. There was so significantly information and so a lot of opinions out there about fashion, that at occasions, it was difficult to find any consensus, significantly less a trend. But here are my picks:
1) Hot hues. Bright color is a trend that we saw simultaneously on the red carpet (Emma Stone, best left, in that pink-and-red Giambattista Valli dress at the “Friends With Benefits” premiere) on the runways (at Jil Sander, 3.1 Philip Lim, Prabal Gurung, Roksanda Ilincic) and on the streets, or rather, the fields at the Coachella Music and Arts Festival, where neon reigned supreme. And it is only going to get stronger for spring 2012.
two) Dip-dyed hair. Kate Bosworth, Katy Perry and Lauren Conrad are just a few of the celebs who sported rainbow-colored suggestions this year. But I knew it was officially a trend when the 10-year-old boy sitting next to me at Sally Hershberger was getting a (extremely costly) blue streak put in his tresses. Only in L.A.

First Look at Blair Waldorf’s Wedding Dress in Gossip Girl!
Brace yourselves, Upper East Siders, and prepare to drool over the wedding dress you’ve been waiting FORever to see. No, we don’t mean Kate Middleton, Kate Moss or even Bella Swan’s. We are, of course, talking about Blair Waldorf’s bridal fancy. LOOK:
Disney Princess or what? Leighton Meester was on set in New York last night filming the moment when her Gossip Girl character gets hitched to a French Prince. The show’s executive producer, Josh Safran, has reportedly said the highly-antcipated wedding will be ‘big and lavish and twisty and juicy’, naturally. So, as you’d expect, Blair’s dress is suitably fairytale-esque – full-skirted, brilliantly frothy and with a chiffon bow at the waist plus a ginormous train.
Although it hasn’t been confirmed, we’re guessing the dress comes courtesy of Vera Wang – just like Kim Kardashian’s – seeing as Leighton is the face of the designer’s perfume and, of course, Ms Waldorf isn’t short of a few pennies. The dress is topped off with white peep-toe heels, a sparkling necklace and a tiara to match, poised amongst Blair’s glossy brunette waves. Isn’t she a dead ringer for our K-Middy?

Kim Kardashian on Her Career: ‘At the End of the Day, We Love Fashion’

Last night, we stopped by the Huffington Post Game Changers Awards at Skylight Studios in Soho. Aside from odd occurrences like Occupy Wall Street protesters chanting outside and a fire alarm going off, there was an interesting mix of people there.
We chatted briefly with Bai Ling, who was surprisingly pleasant to talk to even though her presence there was kind of baffling. The former Celebrity Rehab star told us she had a new song out on iTunes called “Rehab” and that her style has gotten more conservative since she got sober.
Later on, we caught up with Warby Parker’s Neil Blumenthal, David Gilboa and Andrew Hunt. When asked what they thought of all the companies copying them (Eyefly, Shauns Shades), Neil offered, “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery…I don’t know why someone would want to dedicate time to copying someone else, though.”
Kim Kardashian’s Boot and Birkin Obsession
Kim Kardashian has been spotted all over the world in her favorite Stuart Weitzman boots and Hermes Birkin. The ‘Hilo’ thigh high style is a sexy take on flats, while the bag adds a touch of classic elegance to every ensemble. We expect to see her hitting the streets of Manhattan all season in these accessories.
The boots are available at Nordstrom.com for 0. As for the Birkin, you’ll still have to get on a wait-list for that.

Keeping up With Kim Kardashian
Kim Kardashian has been busy this Fashion Week, launching her eponymous fragrance at Sephora, serving as one of the celebrity models in the Heart Truth’s Red Dress show, and debuting a line for Bebe, on which she collaborated with sisters Kourtney and Khloe, at Style 360 Tuesday morning. I visited Kim backstage after the show, which featured a heady array of curve-hugging dresses, playful rompers, and other Kardashian-esque pieces, to chat about the colorful line, her favorite trend, and stepping behind the camera for an upcoming documentary series on celebrity branding—a subject to which she’s no stranger.
