Sponsored Post: How to Shop The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
This fall’s hottest trend is not the latest boot or a crazy new color, but the concept of value shopping. Value shopping is using tools like the Cost Per Wear (remember cost per wear? I’m going to keep nagging you about it until it becomes second nature) to focus your shopping dollars on buying quality pieces you will keep in your wardrobe for years.
I know this is a tough concept for a lot of TBFers, mostly because we’ve been trained to focus on getting the cheapest item (regardless of whether or not it is the best item), which was ok back in the god old days (hmm 2007), when we could do daily/weekly/monthly shopping trips. However, the shopping (and economic) reality is that we don’t know when our last shopping trip will truly be our last shopping trip. So rather than buying a bunch of stuff that you might no be able to wear six months from now, focus on buying a few great pieces with a low cost per wear (under $ 2), that you can wear over and over again.
And find them on sale.
Starworks Press Preview

Recently I attended the Starworks Press Preview in London.
I always make a beeline for the Nicholas Kirkwood section, but they featured many other brands including Atelier Swarovski, Hogan, Hudson, Jonathan Saunders, Julien Macdonald, Kate Spade, Marios Schwab, Peter Pilotto, Pollini, Roksanda Ilincic and Trilogy.
The new brands I was introduced to on this occasion were Mother of Pearl, Vilshenko, Claudia Schiffer and Lily Allen’s Lucy in Disguise.
The Lucy in Disguise Fall 2011 collection wasn’t allowed to be photographed, but I can tell you that Lily is expanding into ready to wear with a capsule collection for Fall. The vintage inspired collection included a gorgeous nude long sleeve dress and 40s style tea dresses.
