Kim Kardashian’s Break-Up Fash-Over!
Kim Kardashian

It’s the showbiz story gripping America – the shock news that US reality star Kim Kardashian is divorcing her husband Kris Humphries after just 72 days of marriage. In this week’s issue of Grazia, we ask whether it was a genuine relationship or whether Kim has conned as all. One thing’s for sure, Kim is doing her best to tell the world that it really WAS genuine. How? With a wardrobe transformation, of course. In the past couple of weeks, we’ve seen her covering up more than usual, draping her famous curves in neutral colours rather than flash-tastic brights. Teamed with a downcast expression and subtle(r) make-up, she looks (whisper it) almost dreary.
At her handbag launch in Australia last week, Kim wore a peach snakeskin blouse by Aryn K that’s so demure, it could’ve come straight from her mother’s wardrobe. Admittedly, she flaunted her pins in a lace-trimmed skirt (from the Kardashian Kollection, natch) but it’s more cutsey than sexy, dontcha think? Similarly, the Isabel Marant dress covered in fringing sends out a very sensible I-didn’t-marry-him-for-money message. Is anyone else reminded of Lindsay Lohan and her uncharacteristically prim outfits for the courtroom? See, an outfit really can say a thousand words.

Latest Bridal Wear Trends: Vera Wang Black Wedding Dresses
I don’t know about you, but I know that whenever I say Vera Wang wedding dress, I think about perfect, immaculate white wedding dresses with intricate designs and fairy princess cuts. Every time. And the recent celebrity weddings helped me shaped that image with even more accuracy. How lovely was Hilary Duff in her Vera Wang wedding gown?
However, the last celebrity wedding I remember being Vera Wang overloaded was Kim Kardashian’s. The most famous Kardashian was finally going to settle down with basketball player Kris Humphries. The wedding reception in itself, although completely lacked of imagination and finesse, based on a black and white theme, revolved around the bride: Kim Kardashian wore no less than three wedding dresses, all designed by Vera Wang! How exquisite is that?

Kim Kardashian files for divorce from Kris Humphries

It seems the wedded fairytale is already over for Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries. After just 72 days of marriage, Kim has filed for divorce from the NBA star citing irreconcilable differences as the reason behind the split.
“After careful consideration, I have decided to end my marriage,” she said in a statement. “I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision. I had hoped this marriage was forever but sometimes things don’t work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best.”
The couple announced their engagement in May after a six month whirlwind romance. They then tied the knot on August 20 in a lavish ceremony which included many celebrity guests such as Lindsay Lohan, Eva Longoria, Ryan Seacrest, Serena Williams, and Mel B.

Kim Kardashian Wore Three Vera Wang Dresses to Her Wedding–What Does Her Divorce Mean For Vera Wang’s Brand?
So, as you’ve no doubt heard by now, Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries are getting divorced after just 72 days of being married. Kim confirmed her divorce to her overlord producer Ryan Seacrest earlier today and TMZ has the docs to prove it which cite “irreconcilable differences”.
In a statement Kim said, “After careful consideration, I have decided to end my marriage. I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision. I had hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don’t work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best.“ Her soon-to-be ex Kris Humphries appears to have been blindsided by the news, having released his own statement to TMZ saying, “I love my wife and am devastated to learn she filed for divorce…I’m willing to do whatever it takes to make it work.”
Yeah, yeah, yeah. We don’t believe any of it. At this point, don’t you feel a little taken? After the reported $ 18 million Kardashian and Ko. are estimated to have made off the wedding from television rights, photo placements, advertising and product placements, it’s hard not to see our ‘royal’ wedding as one big money making scam. And we bet the vendors involved, including Vera Wang who personally appeared in E!’s wedding special and designed Kim’s three wedding dresses, are none too pleased about how this is going down either.
