If you were on the East Coast this past weekend, you got a little taste of what’s to come: Winter! From cold, frigid outside air to dry indoor heat, winter can really wreak havoc on your skin. A few minor adjustments to your skin care routine can keep your skin looking gorgeous all season long. Here are a few tips that don’t cost a fortune and are easy to implement.
1) Switch from a foaming cleanser to a more moisturizing one: We’ve heard this over and over again from skin care specialists: If your daily cleanser is really foamy it’s also probably drying your skin out a bit. Switch to a creamier formula, and you’ll give your skin a bit of extra hydration. That “squeaky clean” feeling is not always the best for your skin.
2) Don’t stop wearing sunscreen: The sun can still cause damage, especially if it’s reflecting off the–ugh–snow. A daily moisturizer with at least an SPF 15 is good, but a full sunscreen under your makeup and moisturizer is even better.
