Real-Life Style Challenge: Revisiting the Graphic Tee
Back in high school, I stuck to a pretty regular uniform of graphic tees and jeans. It was an effortless way to get dressed these early mornings and nonetheless appear cute. But as trends changed and I got older, I wore graphic tees much less and much less. They stayed in my closet, though, since they were nevertheless in fantastic shape and still cute!
The Challenge:
So this week’s real-life style challenge had me revisiting a trend from my past. This week I aimed to style a week’s worth of interesting and trendy outfits, all about my collection of graphic tees.
Geek Chic: Fashion Inspired by Marvel’s The Avengers

You know that tingly sensation of awe and excitement you get right after seeing a truly great film? Properly, apart from leaving me with a serious hankering for shawarma, Marvel’s The Avengers undoubtedly gave me that oh-my-gosh-you-guys-let’s-watch-that-yet again feeling. Its all-star cast includes Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, and Cobie Smulders.
I saw the movie last Saturday night, but I still can’t cease thinking about it all: the epic battle scenes, the hilarious a single-liners, the seriously attractive cast, and of course, the style! And what far better way to channel my newfound obsession with comic books and superheroes than with a Geek Chic fashion post?

Press day preview: Urban Outfitters Autumn/Winter 2012
Press preview season is upon us and nowadays saw us popping in to 68 Dean Street in London to take a sneak peek at the Urban Outfitters Autumn/Winter 2012 collection. The Georgian house in the heart of Soho was the ideal setting for the uber trendy brand to showcase their new season pieces.
Nestled amongst the grand fireplaces and vintage paneling lay some of autumn’s need to-haves studded loafers, chunky gold jewels and floral print Doc Martens. Upstairs on the first floor we located the womenswear: a series of looks had been put together, each and every with the signature androgynous style Urban Outfitters has grow to be known for, but also with a true emphasis on colour and shape. Neons featured heavily with an orange buckle clutch, neon paneled Chelsea boots and a lovely fluro yellow coat by Hearts and Hands created exclusively. Other important highlights included printed pajama suits, sleek knits, dip-dye jeans and some severe boot action.

Armani’s Designing Lady Gaga’s Tour Looks

Lady Gaga’s been uncharacteristically quiet lately (ever since she told Oprah she was carried out speaking), but thanks to her huge tour of Asia, kicking off April 27th, she’s bound to score a few headlines. 1st up, her costumes. The pop star’s enlisted Giorgio Armani, with whom she’s worked ahead of, to whip up a dazzling array of mirrored, spiked and sparkling suits. Most only exist from the thigh up, but some, like the brown dress pictured above, are a bit a lot more conservative. As for those spiked, thigh-high boots on the left, we cannot assist but property Armani issues a slightly more commercial (and for sale) version come fall.

Giorgio Armani designs Lady Gaga’s tour wardrobe
We’ve received some thrilling fashion and music news these days – Armani are designing Lady Gaga’s wardrobe for her forthcoming Born This Way Ball tour!
The luxury fashion brand who have collaborated with Gaga on a number of occasions, producing costumes for her 2010 Monster Ball tour as well as dressing her several times for the red carpet, released four of the bespoke designs developed for the singers highly anticipated new tour this morning. The man himself, Mr Giorgio Armani, has revealed how thrilling it is to collaborate with Lady Gaga:
“I admire the way she uses style as a scenic element and as a implies to develop a character. She is an artist of numerous talents and excellent intelligence. Making stage costumes for her is a stimulating and creative physical exercise.”
The garments function some fantastically out-there detailing such as keyboards, mirrored inserts, extreme fringing, crystal embellishments, spikes and PVC tubing…Armarni and Gaga are clearly on the same planet when it comes to dreaming up the excellent costumes! It is tough to select a favourite, but I think the very first outfit is particularly gorgeous, with its Swarovski studded wing shaped bodice, matching headpiece and thigh high spike boots – I can visualize Gaga strutting across the stage already!
