Jared Leto has had an eventful, if a bit confusing, year. He broke the Guinness globe record for most shows performed during a single album cycle with his band 30 Seconds to Mars, attended a number of fashion shows in Paris, hung out with Terry Richardson a lot and turned 40 yesterday. When winter comes I always feel that there is a lack of sartorial creativity in the air. I mean, ok, so we are kinda covering up in long coats and so like nobody really sees what you are wearing. So who cares?!? Wrong, actually I do care. Very much so. After all, I’m dressing for myself and not for others, so I need to feel good regardless of what others see or don’t see. My point is: even though they are invisible to everyone else, I still have to find jeans that are different. I don’t really want any colored jeans, or anything extreme like harem jeans, but I would love a pair that can really make me go gaga, and stand out from the dark blue ocean of jeans we are seeing right now.
So guess who filled the bill? Dsquared², that beautiful, outrageously expensive Italian brand which has been designing outstanding jeans for a while now, and which have been, until this moment, outstandingly unaffordable. And guess what? I was browsing at YOOX and guess what else? The price tag was a “mere” $ 145!! Yeah, baby, I could just hear those Dsquared² jeans calling my name! Not only are they 100% cotton, something that almost no American brand produces right now, but they also have that little something that I was looking for to make me go gaga – PAINT SPLASHED ALL OVER THEM!!! Now you tell me you think these jeans don’t rock!
And I have to stress out, even though they don’t have one single % of stretch, their fit is PERFECT. They are a slouch skinny, neither too tight nor too baggy. I am wearing them with colorful thick socks and booties…..bye for now, gotta run and show off my new jeans YAY!!!

Delicate Vintage Party Dresses For Special Occasions
The celebration spirit got to me! Finally! (I’ll get back on that “finally” later on) I found these two lovely dresses today I absolutely want you to see! I paired them with some shoes too, but you know, it’s up to you – all the styling liberty to mix and match, to change up, dress up or down a certain garment.
I’m always for the dress down, but every now and then, I have to trade my comfy jeans & converse (or biker boots, it’s a question of season) for a dress and high heels. And, although you may think different, I love the dress situation! Take these two beauties here: one of them (the one with the sparkling embroidery) is alarmingly similar to one of the dresses I wore for my wedding. I guess you can technically call it “wedding dress”, even if it’s more unconventional.

Ways To Wear Style Overloads: Check Shirts & Cuffed Jeans
Style Overload: A Revisit
Some of you might remember an article I wrote a while back that considered a selection of key items that for many of you – including me – had become overloaded or over worn. Clothes that had lost their individuality, their sense of style, their uniqueness and viability; for want of a better phrase, they had become mainstream or easy fashion. If you haven’t read it, take a quick look – A Fashion Debate – Style Overload? – because this article will then make a great deal more sense.
Said article was also the basis for an interesting discussion with arguments being raised on both sides, and which also identified some other items that people considered as being overloaded. We here at FashionBeans whole heartedly agreed with many of the points raised, but never let it be said that we won’t vigorously defend the rights of clothes under persecution because we weren’t prepared to give up on these items without a fight. Check Out Louis Vuitton’s New ‘Icons’ Collection, Tracksuits and ‘Treggings’ Included (Plus Illustrations by Garance Dore)
Louis Vuitton is releasing a seven-piece ‘Icon’ collection in December that will, according to the press release, “revisits tradition to refine the rules of modern dressing…it’s the LV ABC of style.”
The collection features perfect renditions of classics like a mac coat (complete with Stephen Sprouse-printed lining), a red cardigan, a pair of 5-pocket jeans and a cool parka.
There’s also a track suit (‘travel kit’) and something called a tregging (the upscale version of the jegging, a trouser legging, we assume). I guess an icon must travel comfortably and in style, so what better way than in a Louis Vuitton version of the Juicy Couture track suit. This certainly backs up our prediction that early aughties fashion is about to make a comeback…
