Charlize Theron VS Kristen Stewart in Madrid

KRISTENANDCHARLIZE2012 Charlize Theron VS Kristen Stewart in MadridWell it looks as even though Kristen Stewart is winning out in the style run so far on the promotional tour of Snow White and the Huntsman. Charlize, what were you thinking?! Just as I’ve overcome the shock of Kristen actually producing an work for her latest press commitments, you go and put on your worst outfit in ages. At the Madrid photo contact in Spain, Charlize wore a bold red Autumn/Winter 2012 Giambattista Valli dress with nude Christian Louboutins, and while the colouring and the fitted skirt look wonderful on the actress, the rest of it is just a let down. The pleated shoulders do nothing for Charlize – in-truth, they make her look twice as wide. Maybe if she had teamed the dress with a clunky and dramatic pair of heels, it may have balanced out the look, but alas, it was not meant to be. Sadly the normally beautiful actress couldn’t even rescue the outfit with her hair and makeup, as both had been plain and boring.

Kristen on the other hand, brought sufficient drama for them each with a BCBG Max Azria dress from the Pre-Fall 2012 collection. The moment once again, K-Stew’s stylist shortened the outfit for the petite actress in order to showcase her legs, but regrettably it was the nude bra peeking through the sheer panelling on the dress that got my consideration – if Kristen was too self-conscious to rock a black bra underneath, she should have opted for a slip instead. In spite of the negative choice of underwear and fully unnessary belt (these more than the shoulder straps were in danger of ruining the whole outfit) Kristen looks in her element. She completed her blue and black ensemble with the black version of Charlize’s Pigalle Louboutins and a Katniss inspired plait.

Kate Beckinsale is “badass but girly”

totalrecallkate Kate Beckinsale is badass but girly

The gorgeous Kate Beckinsale reportedly went from “vicious badass lethal killer” to “polite and girly” on the set of her new film, Total Recall. The actress, shares many fight scenes with the equally gorgeous Jessica Biel in the upcoming movie remake, and film director Les Wiseman said that seeing the two girls fighting on set was hilarious:

“I’ll almost certainly place this out on the DVD, but these girls are just kicking every other’s asses and really brutal. We wanted to attack it. It was just a actually vicious brawl, and in amongst the cuts, they each get so girly. There’s plenty of times when Kate really just nicked Jessica’s nose or exact same issue with Jessica, and they quickly just go from these vicious badass lethal killers to immediately really apologetic and very polite and girly. It really is great to see.” Wiseman – who is also married to the beauty – explained in an interview with MTV news that Kate enjoyed the switchover from very good to negative girl. She told her husband, “You have to be so earnest when you’re saving the globe. The bad guys have a lot more entertaining!”

Both Kate and Jessica looked flawless at recent photocall for the movie, despite the fact that they opted for fully various looks. Kate showcased her assets in an sophisticated yet sexy J. Mendel dress with a thigh-high split teamed with nude Nicholas Kirkwood heels, while Jessica adopted a much more laid back appear in Giambattista Valli seperates and sandals.

The Academy Awards 2012 – We make our Oscars fashion predictions

gemmacartwright columnshot The Academy Awards 2012 We make our Oscars fashion predictionsGemma Cartwright writes…

Sunday night is the 84th Academy Awards, and stars will be pulling out all the stops for their Oscars red carpet moment. The night never ever fails to bring us a handful of fashion surprises, but a single thing we can guarantee is that you will have an amazing night if you enjoy glamorous gowns!

On Sunday, team Catwalk Queen will be having a tiny Oscars party of our own, livetweeting the red carpet and updating the internet site as soon as the photos come in so you can see the gowns for oneself.

In my function as resident Oscars specialist, I usually predict what I believe folks will wear, and while they usually pull a thing new and thrilling out of the bag to prove me incorrect, it really is still fun to guess.

DIY Nail Art Tutorial: Runway-Inspired Floral Print

giambattista valli spring 2012 floral gown DIY Nail Art Tutorial: Runway Inspired Floral Print
Photo: ELLE.com

Although 3D nail art has actually been my thing lately (my last two tutorials have been on rhinestones and glitter), the other day I came across photos of the Giambattista Valli spring 2012 couture show, and it inspired me to switch gears I’ve constantly wanted to attempt translating a runway look into nail art.

The pink floral dress above was my favored in the complete collection, so I decided to try to recreate the appear of the flowers on my nails. It was actually pretty straightforward – here’s my attempt at a runway-inspired manicure, and how you can pull it off yourself with just polish and a bobby pin!

Natalie Portman chooses Giambattista Valli Haute Couture for SAG Awards

Natalie Portman SAG Natalie Portman chooses Giambattista Valli Haute Couture for SAG Awards

Natalie Portman skipped out on the red carpet at the 2012 Screen Actors Guild Awards, but she didn’t take that as an excuse to appear something less than perfection. She chose a preferred designer, another Giambattista Valli Haute Couture dress. It is from the Spring 2012 Collection and followed in a extended line of “secure but beautiful” gowns for Portman. She does take odds with fashion, but typically not at the large award shows.

I like all the sparkly facts, too. Her Harry Winston earrings are pretty impressive, and I also enjoyed the crystal box clutch.

Grazia’s Highlights From Day One At Couture Week: Versace, Dior, Giambattista Valli & Tod’s

The fight has gone out of fashion. The catwalks were fabulously feminine on the first day of Paris couture week: nary a metal stud nor leather strap in sight. But there was adequate lace and organza and adequate billowing ballgowns to send the toughest chick on a Scarlet O Hara fantasy trip. Right here are a few of my highlights…

1. VERSACE

Versace’s biker jacket of lazer cut flowers and her Blondeness’s silver lace gowns were fiercely fabulous. Loving the return of the high, scraped back ponytail: a Versace classic that I have missed.

See All the Looks From Today’s Couture Shows, Including Versace, Dior, and Giambattista Valli

The couture shows are right here! Today’s runways brought every single ounce of giant ruffles, theatrical hemlines, and statement-generating headgear you could hope for. At Christian Dior, sheer looks, massive skirts, and voluminous sleeves dominated the show. Meanwhile, the models at Alexis Mabille had their faces painted to match their brightly-hued gowns, and Versace’s first couture show since 2004 brought slicked hair and curve-hugging seams.  See the full collections, plus some detail shots from the shows that walked nowadays in Paris.
