Play the *Donna Summer* Disco Diva in a Fab Floral Frock
The Queen of Disco died these days – Could 17, 2012 – so I decided to republish this fun “get the appear” post I did a handful of years back that I’m sure she would have liked! Her fashionable excellent looks and incredible pipes resulted in nineteen #1 dance hits – second only to Madonna. “Poor Girls”, “Live and More” and “On the Radio” burned up the charts, making her the only artist to have 3 consecutive double-LPs hit No. 1. She was also the first female artist with four No. 1 singles in a 13-month period according to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, where she was a nominee this year.
The original diva of attractive disco is releasing a new album, Crayons, and is celebrating in true Donna Summer time style with a chi chi launch party at Mansion New York. We like to celebrate with, what else, fashion…so why not channel her iconic floral frock look? To preserve from searching like a museum piece, skip the satiny mules in favor of some thing like python snakeskin – the present need to-have neutral – and add a sexy pendant necklace, statement ring, and a clutch.
Here’s how to get the appear:

The First Carrie Diaries Trailer Is Here!
Photo: The CW
A few sneak peeks of AnnaSophia Robb as young Carrie Bradshaw in The Carrie Diaries have been released, and now we’ve got the 1st trailer. Set in 1984, the show pits Robb against pre-Mr. Big love interest Sebastian Kydd (played by Austin Butler, Vanessa Hudgens’s actual-life beau). And the costumes, accomplished by Eric Daman of Gossip Girl, hit a note among decadent ’80s and a far more contemporary look. Though the show won’t be airing till January on The CW, this initial clip will support tide more than the wait… at least for a small although. See it after the cut.
Andrea Seigel’s ‘In a Relationship’ with Paul Rudd

For anyone not stalking Andrea Seigel’s each humorist move on Twitter and Facebook–shame on you! Seigel, who is a single of HelloGiggles BFFs (yes, they seriously have a list of their BFFs) and the author of novels Like the Red Panda and The Kid Table, has offered us everyday, Twitter-sized laughs ever considering that she opened her accounts.
So, final week, when she posted, “Our movie is ‘still alive’ and ‘in a relationship’ with Paul Rudd,” we swooned more than the fact that Seigel is making a crossover to Hollywood. Her initial feature script–Laggies—follows a woman on the verge of matrimony who prefers lingering in permanent adolescence rather of taking the usual actions toward saying “I do.” The film will be in the hands of director Lynn Shelton (Humpday, the upcoming Your Sister’s Sister) and stars Rebecca Hall and, of program, Paul Rudd. To get the official scoop, ELLE sat down with Seigel to discover out more about her Laggie universe, her wry take on life, and her June 1st due date.
ELLE: What does Laggies mean?
Andrea Seigel: It is like lagging—lagging behind in life.

Fashionista Week in Review: Kelly Cutrone Busts Her Thieving Ex-Assistant, Mark Zuckerberg Loses His Hoodie, and Penis Print Pants Exist
Dressing Up Zuckerberg: Zuckerberg may be disgustingly rich now, but even ringing the NASDAQ bell to celebrate taking Facebook public wasn’t sufficient to get the Zuckster out of that damn hoodie. We got some of our beloved stylish dudes to play dress up with the Face of Facebook.
Delivery.com-Addicted Assistant Steals from Kelly Cutrone: We would never steal a seat from PR powerhouse Kelly Cutrone, let alone cash, but that is just what a single crazypants assistant did. We talked to Cutrone, and she shared much more unbelievable particulars about the situation. Great luck finding a fashion job now, kiddo.
Menstruation Can Be Fashionable: OK, possibly not. But Vice tried to convince every person that Auntie Flow is haute with their period-themed photo shoot. We suddenly have cramps.
Kanye West Is Premiering a Film at Cannes

Kanye West is headed to the Cannes Film Festival—and it is not for a musical efficiency. He’s organizing to premiere his brief art film Cruel Summer, inspired by the album of the exact same name from his record label Good Music, at the festival on May 23, Pitchfork reports.
The “immersive seven-screen experience” is supposed to be “a fusion of brief film and art installation…unlike anything at all West has attempted prior to,” according to the press release. It seems to be connected to the film project Kanye was reportedly researching in the Middle East this February, based on the Cruel Summer time film poster’s imagery (see it after the cut). One thing we do know for sure: the film co-stars Aziz Ansari and Kid Cudi, and Kanye wrote, created, and directed it. The installation will be open to the public for two days right after the premiere—register for tickets right here.
