From Elle Fanning to Hailee Steinfeld: We Dress Some of Our Favorite Starlets for Prom
With prom season upon us, we’ve been seeking at the dresses from all different angles: What to put on, what not to wear, how to get the appear.
For most celebrities, nevertheless, this routine is nothing new. Obtaining dolled up for a night of partying and red carpet stomping is just yet another component of the job–however, for young Hollywood actresses the routine is slightly different because they have designers clamoring to dress them.
We can’t imagine that any of the current hot young items are tired of obtaining dressed up just yet, so we’ve decided to dress a handful of of our favorite starlets (of a certain high school-ish age–we know some of them are more than 18…) for prom in some looks from spring and fall.
Marchesa Fall 2012: Coming to a Red Carpet (and Taylor Momsen Video) Near You
It does not get much more glamorous than Marchesa‘s Fall 2012 show.
Set at the Plaza Hotel, guests initial had to make their way by means of the clump of paparazzi waiting on the red carpet for a peek at Taylor Momsen, Stacy Keibler and Olivia Palermo. It felt a lot more like an A-list awards show than a fashion show–which makes sense considering that we’re betting a lot more than a handful of of Marchesa’s gorgeous and dramatic gowns will make their way onto the red carpet soon–like Oscar’s soon.
When every person was seated in the gold dinner chairs in one of the Plaza’s most luxurious event spaces, the show began. Models entered through a gold-and-mirrored doorway, helped down the tiny set of steps by a pair of dapper gentlemen, like debutantes from a bygone era.
The line sheet mentioned the designers Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig were inspired by William-Adolphe Bouguereau’s famed 1878 portrait, “A Soul Brought to Heaven.” And as the New York Instances‘ Eric Wilson pointed out, there was some Alexander McQueen in there, too. In any case, there were numerous Baroque elements in the collection, and although the hand embroidered lace bodices, as nicely as the gold brocade sculptural frocks did remind us of McQueen’s Fall 2010 collection, they also seemed like a natural development for the brand’s aesthetic.
