Alice Dellal for Marc by Marc Jacobs’ Spring / Summer 2012 Campaign: FIRST LOOK!

It appears a distinctive hairstyle can go a long way. Just a month after becoming signed as the face of Chanel’s new Boy Handbag collection, punk model Alice Dellal is in yet another campaign… for non other than Mr Marc Jacobs.
Photographs have just emerged of Alice fronting the Marc by Marc Jacobs collection. The Juergen Teller shots are actually some of our favourite of the aristo model – whose mum is Brazilian model Andrea. Her half-shaved hair style sets off the pretty Marc by Marc Jacobs dresses and pumps in a completely contemporary grunge way that we can entirely see the Marc customer relating to. Alice takes over from Elle Fanning, the 13 year old actress, who final fronted the campaign.

ELLE also named their best-dressed ladies. Do you agree with the list?
On a comparable note, the Occasions lists the best women’s trends of 2011 – so several great ones (and a couple of that we’re OK with forgetting).

Travel Into Spring With Tribal Prints
Sure we’d love to see the Serengeti or hike the Himalayas, but this season you don’t need to shell out big bucks for a world-traveler wardrobe.
Designers like Vivienne Tam and Gwen Stefani at L.A.M.B. sent models down the runway in offbeat combinations of texture, color and print. We also adore SUNO’s socially responsible styles that are designed in NYC then manufactured in Kenya and India. The label is already a favorite of stars like Elle Fanning and Rachel McAdams.
So we’re going to skip the expensive airfare and head over to the nearest mall to pick up global gems like summer-ready skirts and African-inspired accessories.
Pamela Love — a jewelry designer that collects fossils, crystals and afterlife iconography — opened her closet doors and took the StyleLikeU team on an adventure to Mexico, South America and even Brooklyn. The self-proclaimed “curator” mixed her Peruvian-inspired ponchos with her popular raven skull necklaces. Love’s raw approach to dressing is enviable — and totally easy to emulate: just mix and match prints and textures and add a dash of confidence.
