Rooney Mara: More Fabulousness in Miu Miu and Michael Kors

Ok last installment of the week (we promise) of Rooney Mara’s fash-tour at the premieres of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. Though we DID tell you on Tuesday that she was 1 of our style stars to watch for 2012. Yesterday it was Berlin for the actress, who debuted two much more elegantly goth looks as she took to the red carpet.

For the afternoon photocall, Rooney donned a minimal Miu Miu Spring / Summer 2012 appear, which comprised a flared black skirt and cropped black bra leading. She worked the sporty-chic look with cross strap shoes and minimal makeup. And that enigmatic, Mona Lisa smile shoe does so well.

Rooney Mara: Gorgeous in Louis Vuitton for Paris Premiere

It is the 1st red carpet appear of 2012! And it is good ‘un. The gorgeous Rooney Mara stepped out last night at the Paris premiere of ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’ wearing an additional darkly sophisticated look this time sporting a gorgeous bejeweled dress from the Louis Vuitton pre-fall 2012 collection.
Daniel Craig, meanwhile, sported jeans, a cardigan and hi-top rated Nike trainers for the red carpet (here’s a question: what IS this trend for guys dressing down when accompanying females who are in full evening dress? And yes Jude Law, we are talking to you). Also in attendance and looking gorgeous was Elodie Yung, who plays Miriam Wu in the film (a love interest of Lisbeth, Rooney’s character). One to watch?

The Best Magazine Covers of 2011
Don’t judge a book by it is cover…unless it is a magazine, in which case often the cover is the main selling point.
The very best covers of 2011 returned to a new naturalism and a fun aesthetic, like the Lara Stone T cover we’re nonetheless drooling more than, pictured at left. Certain, there’s still space for artifice in fashion (see: Stella Tennant on Vogue Italia), but 2011 was a year for reflecting on natural beauties, extraordinary models, and stellar photography.
Following toiling more than hundred of covers, we’re bringing you “The Best” according to us. Did we forget your preferred? Let us know in the comments.
Get the Look: Rooney Mara at the NYC Premiere of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

In the movie adaptation of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, the protagonist Lisbeth Salander is a grungy, socially awkward twenty-three year old whose wardrobe vocabulary consists of green cropped cargo pants, leather jackets, lots of face piercings, utilitarian boots and the mantra of “I could care less about how I look to the outside world” to boot.
The actress who plays this loner, Rooney Mara, morphed into her role, leaving no trace of her girly side, save for a moment in the movie where Salander plays dress-up with a blond wig, some ultra spiked heels, to die for sunnies, bright pastel suits, sexy lace lingerie and (gasp!) rouged lips, for a covert mission. The movie comes out on December 21, but yours truly had the chance of seeing it last night at the AMC Empire in Times Square and I have to tell you, you will kick yourself if you do not see it in the theater. Parts of the movie lag a bit but swings back into full action mode midway.
Rooney Mara has been making the red carpet rounds at various premieres around the globe, along with her costars Danielle Craigs, Joely Richardson, Christopher Plummer and Stellan Skarsgard. Rooney, unlike her character, has been showing off some high fashion looks for these premieres. She wore a black ultra sheer paneled Prabal Gurung dress with vertiginous Christian Louboutin peep-toe heels for the New York premiere. Of course what I loved most about her look with the sleek coif, rouged lips and barely there makeup. We asked celebrity makeup artist Piper Cline of Angelo David Salon (48 East 43 Street, 2nd Floor – Madison & Vanderbilt – New York, NY), to give us the scoop on how to get her look.

Rooney Mara in Givenchy Couture at the Girl With The Dragon Tattoo London premiere

Thanks to her role as Lisbeth Salander in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Rooney Mara is Hollywood’s hottest new girl on the block. So it was fitting that she truly rocked the red carpet at the London premiere of the movie, wearing a Givenchy Couture dress and Brian Atwood shoes.
The white maxi contrasted strongly with her sharp black cropped hair, which she had to dye and chop off to play the role of a tortured girl abandoned by the everyone in Swedish author Steig Larsson’s trilogy. Rooney – who has previously played all-American heroines – has spoken at length about the emotional impact of some of the filming, which included a rape scene.
