Fashion Inspiration: American Idol Season 11 (Part 2)

American Idol has been one particular of the most well-known shows on television for more than ten years now. Immediately after numerous judging panel shake ups, a few rule modifications, countless Grammy and Tony awards, and even an Oscar win, the show (and its contestants) are nonetheless going strong. Jennifer Connelly and ‘Virginia’ at the Cinema Society

The Cinema Society threw a banging party at the Crosby Street Hotel in Soho final night to celebrate this Friday’s release of Jennifer Connelly’s new film, Virginia. Juliette Lewis, Billy Bob Thornton, Alexa Chung, Eve, Jane Lynch, Nina Dobrev, Zoe Lister-Jones, and Girls’ Christopher Abbott and Adam Driver joined Connelly and writer-director Dustin Lance Black for the unique screening co-hosted by Shiseido (Connelly was lately named the brand’s initial global ambassador.).
Black, who wrote Milk and wrote for HBO’s Huge Love, drew on his Mormon upbringing for Virginia, the story of a schizophrenic single mother (Connelly) getting an affair with a married Mormon sheriff (Ed Harris) who is running for state senate.
Harris (whose true-life spouse, Amy Madigan, portrays his wife in Virginia) has co-starred with Connelly in 4 films, like A Beautiful Thoughts, for which she won an Oscar. “Ed’s such a talented actor I would work with him on any film,” mentioned Connelly. “I think he’s amazing.” Connelly will also reunite with her A Stunning Mind co-star Russell Crowe, when shooting starts this summer time on Noah (Her Requiem for a Dream director, Darren Aronofsky, will helm the ark-creating drama, due out in 2014).

Immediately after about 5 days of cold climate and rain, North Carolina was blessed with a bit of sunshine. Tori took benefit of this gorgeous day to put on one of her favorite dresses. Back in high school, I stuck to a pretty regular uniform of graphic tees and jeans. It was an effortless way to get dressed these early mornings and nonetheless appear cute. But as trends changed and I got older, I wore graphic tees much less and much less. They stayed in my closet, though, since they were nevertheless in fantastic shape and still cute!

Denim has got dressed up for S/S 2012 – forget boring blue or simple black, you want to opt for bold colour and bright prints if you want to really stand out.
There is a print for absolutely everyone in this rundown of the best on the high street, regardless of whether you favor the subtler ditsy floral on a classic denim base, or an all-out baroque print with chains galore. Most printed denims are super-skinny, so beware what you put on on the top half. A slightly slouchy tee performs a treat – throw on a blazer or leather jacket and wedges or boots to finish the look, or make it summery with small flats and a dip hem sleeveless blouse (if the sun ever comes out).

Nicely, it’s that time of year once more. It appears like only final week that I was struggling to move my inexcusably huge moving boxes up a narrow flight of stairs to my dorm, and now I’m gazing hopelessly into the cavernous 9′ x 12′ space of my area, asking yourself why I ever thought I’d require so significantly stuff.
As I’m certain is the situation for most CF readers, finals week is also the week that I’m expected to have all of my belongings packed away and prepared for checkout. Attempting to juggle day-to-day exams, final papers, and tackling the monster that is my closet is daunting, to say the least.

You know that tingly sensation of awe and excitement you get right after seeing a truly great film? Properly, apart from leaving me with a serious hankering for shawarma, Marvel’s The Avengers undoubtedly gave me that oh-my-gosh-you-guys-let’s-watch-that-yet again feeling. Its all-star cast includes Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, and Cobie Smulders.
I saw the movie last Saturday night, but I still can’t cease thinking about it all: the epic battle scenes, the hilarious a single-liners, the seriously attractive cast, and of course, the style! And what far better way to channel my newfound obsession with comic books and superheroes than with a Geek Chic fashion post?
