Twilight’s Bella Swan’s Wedding Dress Replica Looks Just Like The Original
I may have told you before that I knew nothing of the Twilight saga previous to the making of the Twilight movies. Which can be good and bad. Also, we’re purposely not watching any trailers prior to watching the actual movie (that’s for any movie, not just Twilight). So we can see the movie for the first time and get an impression first hand, not from the too commercial teasers.
And this is how we went to see Twilight’s Breaking Dawn part one. I’m aware that most of the reviews are negative and I may get some raised eyebrows for saying this, but I stand by my belief: it was beautiful! Kristen Stewart really played her part and she was great at it! I’m not a Twi hard, not a fan, but not an all round pretentious movie – consumer. Now before rushing into any spoilers myself, I’ll get straight to the subject: Bella’s wedding dress! Less than 48 hours after the release of Twilight: Breaking Dawn, the official replica of Bella Swan’s Carolina Herrera wedding dress has hit stores.
According to the Wall Street Journal, designer Michael Shettel (who works for wedding retailer Alfred Angelo) hooked up with Summit back in May, after Herrera had designed the dress Kristen Stewart wears to wed Edward Cullen in the movie, to whip up an affordable version of the long-sleeved gown. He used liquid satin and “chantilly-like” lace after a visit to the real dress on set, and came up with a $ 799 version that hit stores this morning. He tells the Journal, “It really is for a Twilight fan because it does represent what the film is about…but I think the silhouette transcends many different viewpoints.”
Meanwhile, the white cowl neck gown that Pippa Middleton wore to her sister’s wedding to Prince William in May finally hit Net-a-porter this morning. It was listed for just over $ 3,100, but sold out in minutes. If you had your heart set on McQueen, may we suggest this $ 28,000 hand embroidered look instead? If it’s the silhouette you’re after, there’s a shorter red version available. Unfortunatly, there’s no guarantee it’ll make you as popular as Pippa.

Speculations have long and tough circulated on how the dress looks like and I don’t forget Kristen herself saying (in that W interview) that the wedding was a great deal and the bride dress fittings took a lengthy time. It sounds promising. Bella is a role model for so a lot of teen and tweens that I do not doubt for a second her wedding gown will be a trendsetter. Couple of can actually afford yet another Carolina Herrera bride dress, so it is helpful to know that a a lot more reasonably priced knockoff is going to be released by Alfred Angelo. A barely recognisable Kristen Stewart graces the September cover of W magazine. Donning a Sixties bouffant flip hairstyle, winged eye make-up and pale lips, the young actress oozes old Hollywood glamour – not a look we’re used to seeing on her.
Inside the magazine, Kristen spills the beans on the highly-anticipated wedding in Twilight: Breaking Dawn – Part 1. So far, we know that Bella Swan will wear a Carolina Herrera-designed wedding gown, but few other details have been revealed… until now.
“The wedding dress experience was a huge deal. I tried on one version of the dress, and it was like tweak and tweak and alter and tweak and change, and then it’s done,” the 21-year-old says.

After months of speculation it has been revealed that Carolina Herrera has designed Bella Swan’s wedding gown! Having kept a tight lip on who created the much anticipated dress, Summit Entertainment tweeted yesterday: ‘On November 18, see Bella’s Carolina Herrera-designed wedding dress in #BreakingDawnPart1!’
No further details were released but already the bets are being placed on what the style of the gown will be. A teaser trailer of Kirsten Stewart walking up the aisle to Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen) doesn’t give much away either. Although Twilight author Stephenie Meyer has said that the dress is ‘simpler style than the frillier Edwardian stuff. Elegant white satin, cut on the bias, with long sleeves.’ A quick look at Herrera’s recent bridal collection shows a few options, although I wonder if this rather simple lace number with sleeves (above, right) may be the one??
