For Spring Break or Resort Fun in the Sun, Cover Up Safely & StylishlyThere is only so a lot sunscreen you can possibly pile on without feeling (and looking) like a giant oil slick. Which is hardly the way to get your attractive Beach Bunny on. Jen Style – Rag & Bone Midnight Scuba Jean

DSC06858 thumb 466x700 87440 Jen Style Rag & Bone Midnight Scuba Jean

Hey there friends! I have an incredible new jean to introduce to you – it’s The Scuba Jean in “Midnight” by Rag & Bone. Rag & Bone is a brand I’ve been lusting after for awhile, so I was stoked to lastly get the likelihood to assessment some of their denim.

For those of you that are unfamiliar with the brand, Rag & Bone was founded in 2002 by Marcus Wainwright and David Neville. Two guys with no formal fashion education that had a vision and ran with it. What I admire most about their garments is that the majority is produced in the US, and is nonetheless sewn the same way clothing was sewn 50 years ago! Marcus & David are innovative designers that produce clothing that is classic yet contemporary, and every piece is made with high high quality material.

I’ve always been fond of Rag & Bone’s denim, and have typically viewed their denim designs as a step ahead of some of the leading designers out there. Their denim reflects an edgy, however sleek persona that immediately draws you in. It’s no doubt that Rag & Bone is a brand nicely identified in the celeb community. Malin Ackerman, Bar Rafaeli, Miranda Kerr, and Khloe Kardashian are just a little handful of the celebs that have been snapped in Rag & Bone’s denim.

Considering that I write the Geek Chic column right here at CF, it should come as no surprise that I obsess over a lot of sci-fi/fantasy series. Of all these, though, it’s The Lord of the Rings that will often be my…precious… and the one tale to rule them all.

J.R.R. Tolkien’s story of nine unlikely allies and their epic quest to save Middle-earth is beloved by millions and has been adapted several occasions. Peter Jackson’s critically acclaimed film adaptations starred Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Viggo Mortenson, Sean Bean, Orlando Bloom, John Rhys-Davies, Dominic Monaghan, Billy Boyd, and Sir Ian McKellen as the Fellowship of the Ring and won a total of 17 Academy Awards. (The Return of the King won all of its 11 nominations and was the 1st and only fantasy movie ever to win Finest Picture!)

Did Target Work Out Its Website Issues for the Jason Wu Collection? Not Really, According to Our Writer’s Firsthand Account

Did Target Work Out Its Website Issues for the Jason Wu Collection? Not Really, According to Our Writer’s Firsthand AccountAfter the disaster that was Missoni for Target, a single would assume that Target’s on the internet team would have worked out all the kinks for the Jason Wu launch. Sadly, for many who hoped to get their hands on a piece of Jason Wu for Target, the experience was as frustrating as ever.

The 1st sign that issues might not go smoothly was the Target Style team’s response to the a lot of inquiries about when specifically the collection would launch on the internet: “Collection is launching in the early morning. We’ll let you know when it launches, on Twitter and Facebook” was one response supplied to user @raeofsunshine29. Then, around 1 AM EST, came this tweet from @TargetStyle: “It appears that three dresses are available… link: tgt.bz/6018RLbi.”

The link did not show any of the Wu collection for me, so I went to the Wu principal page. You could click on “Jason Wu Clothing” and “Jason Wu Accessories” but both pages had been blank. Looking for “Jason Wu” brought up the dreaded error page. Target Style, both on their Facebook and Twitter accounts, recommended to many who were having concerns to try one more browser – Google Chrome and World wide web Explorer were the two most suggested – and logging into the Target website.

greg outside 300x440 How I’m Making It: Greg Armas of Assembly New YorkOn a cool-kid block of the Lower East Side is a white shop that is so meticulously orderly, it might make your head spin. Envelope clutches rest upon a white piano. Minimal gold rings sit beside crystals on the countertops. Shoes are perfectly paired on the floor. Of course I’m talking about Assembly New York.

The kid of Greg Armas’ adore of fashion and art, Assembly New York is an aesthete’s wet dream. Not only is it a clothing shop, but it is also its personal label, launching womenswear at fashion week for fall 2012. With his calm demeanor and soft-spoken nature, Greg Armas is the thoughtful brains behind Assembly New York’s good results. I sat down with him to talk about his budding company and specifically how he makes it in fashion right now.

Fashionista: How did Assembly New York, the shop and the brand, come to exist?
Greg Armas: Initially it was a continuation of a shop I had in LA, known as Scout Los Angeles. October, three years ago, is when I began Assembly NY. It was initially two doors down, and then October of last year we moved into this location, and it actually grew into a men’s and women’s store. When Assembly opened it was pretty significantly for the guys, but then we began obtaining far more and a lot more females coming in and purchasing the mens stuff, so when we moved we decided to do both.
