Kristen Stewart earns her best dressed crown
I did warn you that there would be an influx in K-Stew activity! I am sorry, but can you blame me? Appear at her! She looks wonderful! And she’s not wearing black shoes! And she’s SMILING! But seriously, has the lovely Kristen Stewart hired a new stylist for her Snow White and the Huntsman promo tour? Since I’ve by no means observed her look so great, and if she continues down this route, then I might even have to agree with Glamour magazine naming her the best dressed female of 2012.
This 1st photo was taken over the surprisingly sunny weekend at a press conference at Arundel Castle here in England, and it looks as even though Kristen was as delighted with the weather (and the dress) as I was! The 22-year-old opted for a colour popping number from Preen’s Pre-Fall 2012 collection, in which design duo Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi took inspiration from objects about their properties, like teacups and motorcycles. You can virtually see the blue floral lace overlay on a piece of china can’t you? I’m pleasantly surprised at how significantly the bright orange components in the dress suit Kristen’s skin tone, and I absolutely enjoy the royal blue Casadei blade heels – they look so good on K-Stew’s super long legs. In my opinion, the dress looks a lot much better worn without having tights, and fortunately for us, Kristen prefers to show off her pins anyway.

Frock Horror: Leighton Meester in Marchesa at the Met Gala

Leighton Meester undoubtedly stood out on the red carpet at the Met Gala earlier this week, but regrettably it wasn’t for entirely good factors. Maybe this Gossip Girl really should have taken a style cue from her on-screen alter ego Blair when preparing the evening’s appear. She wore a gold mermaid-silhouette Marchesa gown with intricate, metallic gold embroidery and beading that gave way to voluminous tulle at the bottom. It was extremely in the vein of Marchesa designers Keren Craig and Georgina Chapman. She paired it with Harry Winston jewels and Tabitha Simmons shoes and… fairly significantly the worst spray tan ever.
This was just not a great look for dear Leighton, particularly in this color dress. I have a challenging time understanding why she didn’t stick with her typically fair complexion, which usually looks regal in gold. And the rest of the beauty options…. the dark lipstick, the messy updo, it is all a small garish to say the least. I would have loved to see Leighton’s lovely chestnut waves worn down. I’d say most females would also choose a frock that downplays their hips a bit a lot more.
Marchesa also dressed Sofia Vergara in a similarly ornate silver gown, while the women behind the line themselves each chose far more understated white gowns.

When Hollywood and the White House Collide
The White House Correspondents’ Dinner, which took spot Saturday night in DC, often makes for an fascinating red carpet. The event is a strange mix of politicians, New York’s media power players, and celebrities from the A list on down to the D list.
