Mischa Barton Comeback Update: Here She Is Inexplicably Holding a Baby on the Cover of a Magazine

For the past year or so, Marissa Cooper Mischa Barton has been generating far more of an effort than ever to stage a effective comeback.

She emerged from relative obscurity (save for occassional tabloid appearances focusing on her questionable sartorial alternatives and fluctuating weight. Oh and that time she was placed on a psychiatric hold)–in the UK at least–with an extremely unflattering and painful to watch appearance on Fearne Cotton’s documentary-style show “Fearne and…”Some time immediately after that, she got her shit together, got rid of those awful extensions, dyed her hair a standard color, and hired June Ambrose to makeover her image. And it worked. We saw her with Ambrose at a Nine West occasion for the duration of style week final September and she looked amazing–like shockingly so. And, with a couple of exceptions, she’s looked beautiful and place together at every single look she’s done considering that.

As far as her profession goes, she’s been quietly constructing a fashion empire, beginning with a handbag line she’s had for years (though we didn’t know about it till recently–it must do well overseas?). She lately launched a clothes collection with her mother in Dubai and announced plans to open a retailer in London’s Spitalfields neighborhood subsequent month, which will sell her handbags, clothes and branded cosmetics. According to WWD, she’s gotten requests to open franchises in China and plans to come to the U.S. by the end of the year. Who knew?

She talks far more about her design profession in the initial situation of New York-based Twelv magazine (thanks Huffpo), for which she appears on two covers. In one particular, she’s wearing that Louis Vuitton collar that is in each fashion editorial and in the other she’s…holding a naked infant. For no apparent cause.
