We usually believed those lemlem tunics hanging from the racks at J.Crew would make excellent pillows. Thankfully, Liya Kebede, the model, activist, actress and mother behind the line, agrees. Kebede, who started lemlem five years ago after a trip to her native Ethiopia, has turned those colorful wovens into rugs, blankets and pillow cases for the very first time this spring. Although her tops and dresses, most of which make perfect beach cover-ups, come with neon accents, her residence goods are a bit much more subdued. The forest green and faded blue stripes will mix effortlessly into even non-beach property decor.
The collection begins at $ 125 for a small striped pillow and goes up to $ 325 for a handwoven, mismatched, cotton blanket. Everything’s offered online, starting today.
