Kate Middleton’s predilection for Alexander McQueen dresses is still going powerful. Each and every time she’s worn a dress created by Sarah Burton for McQueen, it’s had lengthy sleeves, and the most current is no exception.
For her appearance in the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee River Pageant in London yesterday, Middleton wore a red dress from McQueen’s Pre-Fall 2011 collection—which had been worn previously by Kim Kardashian—but had it customized with the aforementioned sleeves and a longer, knee-skimming hemline. She paired it with her preferred nude LK Bennett heels and a matching red clutch and Sylvia Fletcher hat.
The dress‚ with its lengthy sleeves and pleated skirt, is not dissimilar to the Emilia Wickstead dress Middleton wore final week—she certainly has a penchant for that mixture. And it appears she could have color coordinated with her mother and sister yesterday, in a subtle nod to the Union Jack: even though Kate was in red, Pippa wore navy and white, and Carole Middleton went with white.
