Magnificent in Marchesa at the 2012 SAG Awards
No red carpet is full with out a wholesome dose of Marchesa. And at final night’s Screen Actors Guild Harvey Weinstein wasn’t the only member of his household to benefit. Weinstein may have scored with Jean Dujardin’s Very best Actor win for The Artist, but his wife Georgina Chapman dressed Finest Actress Viola Davis. Davis, who got lots of stage time thanks to The Support’s pseudo-sweep, wore a custom Marchesa strapless Grecian silk chiffon gown with antique gold embroidered detail.
And that wasn’t it for Marchesa. Jason Wu for Target Brings a Bit of Paris to the Big Apple

Nicely Target you’ve accomplished it again. We’ve raved about Rodarte, went mad for Missoni, fell in adore with Erin Fetherston, and last night we were jumping for Jason Wu. The Jason Wu for Target collection took Manhattan by storm Thursday evening, with a Parisian themed shopping party that had every single editor in NYC standing in line to stake their claim. And not even an our spent waiting in line to spend could detract from the joie de vivre that prevailed.
To mark the occasion, a charming cafe, lush floral fountain, and even a Ladurée vendor helped transform Skylight Studio into a French fashion mecca. “I’m sorry, this is just too cute,” stated Blake Lively right after she chosen a selection of macarons and a few pieces from the collection. And indeed it was.
The Jason Wu for Target collection will be obtainable in shops and online on February 5th.

Alice + Olivia Gets Artistic

Stacey Bendet is unquestionably creative, but turns out she’s rather artsy too. For Spring 2012, the Alice + Olivia designer collaborated with artist Gene Meyer on a quite exclusive accessories project. The partnership resulted in a whimsical collection of silk scarves featuring Meyer’s dynamic prints. Hart of Dixie actress Rachel Bilson is a fashion darling adored by most designers, notably Karl Lagerfeld, who nabbed her as face of Magnum Ice Cream last year. Bilson has been on a gazillion red carpets (hyperbole, of course) and loves fashion. This fueled a collaboration with several designers, including DKNY and Edie Rose. Bilson is taking her love of designing to a whole new level by taking a project of her own. Last last year, she added footwear designer to her resume by launching ShoeMint, an online shoe subscription site that allows users to buy shoes monthly at a price of $ 80.
ShoeMint is a collaboration between Bilson and her stylist, Nicole Chavez, who together come up with inspirations, designs and concepts of each shoe. Steve Madden then works closely with them to create the footwear to be sold under the ShoeMint brand. Bilson was interviewed by Wayne Niemi for Women’s Wear Daily yesterday.
