Black & white is always a crisply-chic & winning combo, with touches of gold for interest and some of the season’s peep-toe booties to keep the look fresh. You probably already have a simple black tank in your closet (and if not, why not?) – but if you’re not into putting your upper arms on display, a classic jersey tee like this one by Alexander Wang would work just as well. Just be sure to keep the city shorts unfussy and the length appropriate, and the bag understated (we’re mad for this Mulberry Bayswater in off-white ostrich).
