A Haiku to Spring: Kenzo’s Eaux de Fleurs de Prunier Plum

A Haiku to Spring: Kenzos Eaux de Fleurs de Prunier Plum

Each year, KENZO invites outside perfumers to evoke both authenticity and poetry of the delicate scents of a flowering Japanese tree. Inspired by a visit to Tokyo, master perfumer Francis Kurkdjian recently co-created the fourth addition to the Eaux de Fleurs limited edition collection of evocative poetic floral fragrances: Eau de Fleur de Prunier Plum, a “prune en neige” and powdery ode to ‘ume’ (the Japanese word for plum). A light, airy, and easy-to-wear fragrance, the official notes are plum blossom and almond, with ephemeral nuances of rose and pear, as well as the faint smell of almonds.

Kobayashi Issa (1763-1827) once wrote: "Not very anxious to bloom, my plum tree." With snowfalls throughout the country at record highs, emerge from under your blankets, parka and “layer’ this transparent scent – buds of plum, starting to unclose…a promise of spring .
