A Silver Sternum to Accessorize Your Actual One
A Silver Sternum to Accessorize Your Actual One
This gorgeous silver-plated bronze sternum necklace by the conceptual art-jewelry collection Cabinet Oseo – seen here on American Vogue’s Bookings Editor Valerie Boster while jetsetting in Montauk – is handcrafted in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I particularly love the surprising way it’s paired it here with a vintage dress; the offbeat mix of modern metal against the boho’ness of the crochet = fabulous summertime flair.
The mix of elegance and humor makes it kinda cheeky but kinda not – and 100% a standout statement to whatever you pair it with.
Heidi Klum’s Daughters Wear The Same Lipstick As Their Mother
Today, besides talking about Twihard matters (yes, that means Kristen Stewart’s photo – proof of cheating on Robert Pattinson), we can also talk about another controversial topic: lipstick for kids. Heidi Klum was seen out and about (don’t you just love this expression? Representative for the shallow interest we show for everything and anything) with her two daughters. Cool with that. Only her daughters were wearing the same lipstick as Heidi. Next: Suri and Katie? {theGloss}

Olympians Like Fashion, Too: The Athletes of Team USA Show Us Their Style
The Olympics start this Friday, and one of the best parts of any Olympics (besides ogling the male divers–admit that you do this) is getting to know the athletes and learning their stories as they progress through the games. We already met the women’s gymnastics team (and their makeup), now it’s on to all the rest. And while we’re very interested in their, you know, athletic accomplishments, we also want to know–where do they shop? Which designers do they love? We got the exclusive scoop from NBC (who’s airing the Olympics in the US), who also provided us with amazing pictures of the athletes dressed to the nines.
While understandably a lot of the athletes named Nike and Lululemon as their favorite fashion brands–we get it, they spend every waking moment in the gym–there are plenty of secret fashion fiends (including one ex-model!) in this crowd. While the teens generally stuck to fast fashion, one rogue cyclist loves Stella McCartney, and Louis Vuitton popped up more than once as a fave.
So click through to see 26 members of Team USA like you’ve never seen them before and learn a little bit about them and their style. And definitely check out NBCOlympics.com and TeamUSA.org to follow them all the way through the Olympics.
(Union) Jack Up Your Style for London 2012
We’re smitten with London-inspired styles lately as the symbolic stripes of the Union Jack remind us of how fabulous British accents are. Of course we sound a little odd when we try out the sophisticated speech ourselves, but at least the fashion is more accessible. And while we’re open to wearing the Union Jack everywhere, we’re most likely to wear the flag at out fingers with items like bags, bracelets and guidebooks – because we’ll need all the help we can get while navigating the tube on the way to afternoon tea. These stylish Union Jack-ed items are sure to summon more than a few admiring gazes, which you might acknowledge with a regal and well-rehearsed smile-and-wave.

Olivia Palermo does scallops & sheer at Intimissimi
Olivia Palermo is known (and loved) for her chic and supposedly effortless style, and here she is once again proving once again why we all let out a collective sigh every time she leaves the house.
The American model/actress took a trip over to the fair city of Verona, Italy to take her place on the front row at Intimissimi’s Autumn/Winter 2013 catwalk show, and managed to look perfectly polished yet understated at the same time. Olivia worked two different looks, both suitably stylish, but built upon the same premise of scalloped shorts and sheer shirts. Hey, if it works, it works, right? The 26-year-old socialite has worn a number of loose fitted shorts recently and seems to have developed a soft spot for cute details like scalloped edges and intricate details.
I’m not sure which outfit Olivia wore first, so I’m going to start with my favourite look first. Although the colourway doesn’t immediately scream summer, I can’t help but fall in love with this outfit; Olivia looks smart and stylish in the navy sheer shirt and black shorts combo, but makes it look youthful and fun thanks to the scalloped hem and embellished collar. She finished off the ensemble with white and tan woven heels, elegant gold jewellery, a large red bag (complete with initials) and a stunning pair oversized tortoise shell sunglasses. Beauty wise, Olivia focused on achieving flawless skin, adding a spark of colour with a red manicure and texture with her beautifully twisted hairstyle.
As mentioned before, Olivia’s second outfit consisted of another pair scalloped shorts and a sheer shirt, only this time she opted for something a little more summery. The actress wore a pretty pair of lilac floral shorts, which she teamed with a £49.99 Intimmisimi silk blouse and the same oversized sunglasses and heels. I really wish Olivia had taken a different pair of shoes to wear with this outfit – for me, they bring the look down – but she makes up for it slightly by letting down her hair and showcasing some ridiculously glossy, seriously enviable waves.

DIY Guide to Instant Vintage Jeans: Distress Them Yourself!

Those hot bitches over at Marc Ecko’s Complex did a banging post on getting that vintage look in a matter of minutes rather than 10 or 20 years! I have to quote them because, well, Complex is awesome, and one of my favorite inspirational sites!
If you’re looking for some new jeans, we’d usually suggest a nice pair of raw, unwashed denim. There’s nothing better than buying a new pair, breaking ‘em in, and watching ‘em transform into a unique denim tapestry with rips and abrasions exclusive to you, and you alone. But these days, everything’s about convenience and speed. If you want to skip the whole process and get that worn-in look from the get-go, we could put you on to a number of dope vintage jeans, but most of them are crazy expensive. Don’t fret, my dude, we got you. You can get that vintage look for…free. Free? Yup, like a mixtape or streaming porn. The technique is called light abrasion and can be executed with a couple of tools and a little bit of free time. (Sound like your usual weekend repertoire, yeah? Ayo!) Keep reading and we’ll show you how you can fake it ’til you make it…

Here’s (Marc Jacobs Ex) Austin Armacost Naked on a Runway in His PETA Ad

On Monday, we reported that Austin Armacost, who once briefly dated Marc Jacobs, would star in a new PETA campaign aimed at gays in the fashion industry. The shoot just happened last Friday and PETA has already released a sneak peek of the campaign. Here he is nude carrying a sign that says “Turn your back on fur” surrounded by Michael Musto, Marie Claire‘s Sergio Kletnoy, rapper Cazwell, Austin’s The A-List New York co-stars Ryan Nickulas and Derek Saathoff, and animal advocate Simone Reyes.
PETA posted the photos yesterday with the following quote from Armacost:
