While I was going through some of the main events around to keep you all informed and au courant with the latest trends, my eyes were distraught by a title and the associated pictures: Justin Bieber, my dahlings, was going to a business meeting.
And because he’s such an amazing young entrepreneur and entertainer, he chose the best outfit to represent him at the said business meeting. Those people he met, must’ve really wanted see his underwear to feel more connected, I’m sure! That’s how you do business, today, my dahlings! With your undies on the table!

Another couture week is behind us, but we’re not quite done yet! We’ve read the reviews, drooled over the stunning gowns, and delved into the history and future of the couture bride–but what about the beauty? We can’t let this week end without thoroughly analyzing all the incredible beauty looks that accompanied these one-of-a-kind creations down the runway.

CQ Watch: Daria Werbowy and Betty Boop for Lancôme Hypnôse Star Mascara
For it’s new Hypnôse Star Mascara campaign, Lancôme has teamed up Daria Werbowy and Betty Boop for a short video. The unlikely pairing sees the supermodel star alongside the 1930s cartoon character in a mini-film directed by French comic artist Joann Sfar. Boop appears in colour sporting her trademark little black dress and flapper sleek hair style.
She reveals to Werbowy how she has been captivating audiences all these years: “I’ve been in the business since black and white. All stars have a secret,” she says, while opening a Hypnôse box containing Star Mascara. “Just say it with the eyes,” she reveals and bats her her eyes for the camera.
Betty isn’t the first animated character to feature in a beauty advertising campaign. Minnie Mouse was the inspiration behind a recent OPI nail polish line which featured four vintage pink and red shades. While MAC used Wonder Woman as the inspiration for its spring 2011 collection.
Mirror, Mirror on the Chanel Wall
What better way to celebrate lipstick fabulousness than with masks, mirrors & mini-movies? “I wanted to do a film, a teaser, to announce the coming lipstick event that CHANEL is doing around our Rouge Allure line,” explains Peter Philips, Creative Director of CHANEL Makeup about *Miroir Miroir*, a video (below) inspired in part by the much-lauded Paris-Bombay show from December 2011.
Crystals and mirrored pieces were painstakingly applied onto model Inguna Butane’s face, centered around a mirror on her third eye and radiating outward in a dramatic peacock-tail motif, punctuated with color solely from the lipstick. “When the idea of doing a film around the lipsticks and Paris Bombay started growing in my head, I actually found a platform to create this mirror face. The concept complimented the shades and the hypnotizing, psychedelic aspect fitted well with the Indian theme.”

Meet the 23-year-old Behind the Boutique (and Now E-commerce Site) of Your Dreams, Audrey Grace
New ecommerce sites launch all the time, but sometimes they’re special. Jaclyn Bethany launched Audrey Grace in her hometown of Jackson, Mississippi about a year ago and it first popped up on our radar earlier this year when she staged a Marie Antoinette-themed pop-up shop at the Highline here in NYC. She shoots dreamy look books with cool bloggers and stocks the kinds of precious, ultra-feminine, vintage-inspired (and vintage) pieces we can never seem to find outside the pages of magazines like Lula (one of her sources of inspiration) and, like, Zooey Deschanel’s wardrobe.
She sources her inventory from all over the world and now those perfect frocks from hard-to-find brands like Orla Kiely, Lauren Moffatt and Rachel Antonoff are all in one place, accessible for all on audreygraceshop.com, which officially launched last week. To promote the launch, Bethany collaborated with Claire Cottrell on a pretty video, which you can see here exclusively.
Bethany’s also an example of a new trend we’ve noticed of young twentysomethings opening up shops straight out of (or, in her case, while still in) college. She just graduated from Fordham with a BA in Acting, which she says is her true passion (perhaps the name of her business wasn’t the only thing inspired by Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly). Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy are pregnant with their first child
One of my all-time favourite actresses has revealed she is pregnant with her first child. Claire Danes and her husband Hugh Dancy are getting set to become parents after announcing their happy news to the world.
The 33-year-old starlet hinted at a desire to have children last autumn, saying “There’s definitely a chance, no plans yet. But yeah, that’d be fun”. Now the entertainment world is wondering whether a baby will have any impact on her role on the television series, Homeland, which is due to return for its second season in September. So far there has been no official comment from the show’s production company.
Danes married her English-born actor husband in a private ceremony in France in September 2009. The couple met in 2007 on the set of little-known film, Evening, which also included an all-star consisting of Toni Collette, Vanessa Redgrace, Glenn Close, Meryl Streep and the late Natasha Richardson.
