COLETTE RE-IMAGINES OUR FAVORITE MOVIE POSTERS FROM THE PAST 10 YEARS
Photo: Colette
Remember when James Dean vied for Audrey Hepburn’s interest in Rushmore? Or Muhammad Ali’s cameo in The Hangover? Us neither. But for illustrator Peter Stults, these are just a few of the fictional storylines that inspired his “What If…” poster series for Colette. The New York-based artist re-imagined what some already-classics from the past decade would have looked like had they been released 50 years earlier. Think James Dean (again) rather of Ryan Gosling as the getaway guy in Drive, William Shatner and Natalie Wood as the leads in Avatar, and Michael Caine as heroin addict Spud in Trainspotting (“directed” by Jean-Luc Godard, of course). The eight posters are all faded and time-worn, as if it is genuinely been half a century since The Large Lebowski initial hit theaters. The series, which was unveiled on the web this week, coincides with an in-shop exhibition featuring modern graphic designers and illustrators placing their own spin on iconic film posters from the ‘70s. Klute, Annie Hall, and Jaws are amongst the revisionist pieces on view starting this week through June two. If you cannot make it to Paris, you can bring them home—these modern day versions, along with Peter Stults’s fanciful posters, are accessible for buy online. See a couple more right after the cut.

Erica Style – Dish Trixie Jeans
![]()
How are all my preferred Denimology fans undertaking? I am back and better than ever! Today I am wearing Dish Jeans Trixie Classic Straight. When I first spotted these jeans they had been eye catching. I loved the way the denim fell more than the boots and the suspenders gave a masculine touch to a extremely feminine model in Dish’s trend book.
When the Trixie’s came in the mail, I was a tiny worried about how the fit would appear on me, since I tend to stick with skinnies and flares, due to my relatively significant calves. They cuddled in all the correct areas, nonetheless, a little as well snug in the derriere for this girl! The only hiccup that I have with this pair of denim is that the pockets need to have to be moved in about a half an inch on every side. In some of the photographs you can actually see my complete pocket, when the image is captured from the side. It is nearly as if the pockets were meant for one more pair of jeans? That mentioned, I did adore the size of the pockets because they had been straightforward to rest my hands in. The waist line fit perfectly, hugging just firmly adequate to remain place, never ever falling down. The denim fell onto my boots gorgeously. I could absolutely see a cowgirl or a country club goer hittin’ up these jeans for a two-steppin’ excellent time!

I’ve currently done two bright makeup tutorials - bright lips and bright eyeshadow - but I wanted to save the greatest a single for last: bright eyeliner. Bright eyeliner is my preferred way to incorporate bright colors into your appear simply because it’s super straightforward and you can use any of the eyeshadows you currently personal. I also really feel it is the most fun because you can even pair it with a bright lip.

Anna Wintour Wears Prada to the 2012 Met Gala

Let The Devil Wears Prada references start. Tonight Anna Wintour will be greeting her guests atop The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s iconic actions in a custom Prada gown. “I’m wearing Prada’s homage to Elsa Schiaparelli” the editrix mentioned. It’s a fitting option for the editrix as this evening’s festivities, which raised more than $ 11 million for The Costume Institute, are in celebration of the museum’s latest exhibition, Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations. “They each think in breaking the rules of style, which is one thing I believe in too,” said Wintour of the two female design talents.

See What Everyone Wore to the 2012 Met Gala
It is the buzziest, most style-y red carpet of the year and it’s lastly right here! Welcome to the 2012 Met Ball red carpet!
Lastly, lastly, Beyonce produced it to the red carpet in the sheerest of Givenchy and the red carpet’s a wrap. So far we’re loving: Anna Wintour’s Prada-designed homage to Schiaparelli’s lobster dress Prom king and queen Tom Brady and Gisele (Gisele was also in Givenchy and suffering from a mild case of Angelina’s right leg) Emma Stone who looked like magic tinsel in Lanvin Camilla Belle in Ralph Lauren because, just, damn and Lena Dunham with Hamish Bowles created for our favorite couple of the night. Also basically every person who wore Prada and Rooney Mara in Givenchy. And we could go on. But we’ll cease. It is late.
Whose look are you loving?
