Was Whitney Port Inspired by Alison Brod?
We just received the invitation to Whitney Eve Spring 2011 collection and immediately had to wonder if Whitney Port was inspired by her publicist, Alison Brod. Brod’s Park Avenue office is a Pucci lover’s paradise. Her walls are covered in framed Pucci scarfs and her pillows are upholstered in the brand’s iconic prints. Now it seems her client has taken heed with her invite designs. After Brod’s debut on The City, we knew Port’s brand was on an upward trajectory, but it seems the PR maven’s influence has extended beyond securing press. And we can understand why. After we visited Brod’s offices for the first time five years ago we jetted to Mood and purchased yards of Pucci discards to cover our canvases with. Wether the colorful geometric pattern will play a role in her designs remains to be seen. Port will show her collection on September 11th and we’ll be sure to ask her then.

CPH Fashion week: Bruuns Bazaar ss2011
For being a very commercial brand, Bruuns Bazaar still have it all going on. Perfect balance between being wearable, trendy, amazing fabrics creating pieces in perfectly flattering cuts. I would describe it as somewhere between minimal and Wow. I could do with the entire collection.

Alessandra Ambrosio, Jesus Luz For Chenson Ad Campaign
Now let’s get few facts straight from the very start: we’re all familiar with Alessandra Ambrosio’s angel status and her appeal to the fash masses (or non fash masses). And we’re all familiar with Jesus Luz and his boytoy status (Madonna, anyone?).
Once we’ve had those clear images in our heads, let’s put the two together and we’ll get the Chenson Temptation ad campaign (don’t feel alarmed if you’re not familiar with the brand – it’s a Brazilian label). Temptation? I think a frozen swamp looks more tempting than these two. Appeal? I think a greasy pan has more appeal than these two. Chemistry? Anna Wintour coupling up with Carine Roitfeld would be like 4th of July firecrackers next to these two. I feel bad for all those gorgeous red apples they’ve got there. Jesus will make them all fade away with one of his unforgiving sensual looks! At least Alessandra is trying. Right?
