CPH Fashion week: Minimarket ss2011
Even though I get slightly sad and betrayed thinking of brands like Minimarket that leaves their base (Sweden) to show in another city I can’t help but be proud in way too. Minimarket is just too great to not be all over the fashion scene. Even if this collection is as far away from their last s/s as possible! I’ll never get over those wonderful color explosions, the tailored 6o’s feminine suits and to-die-for hats and wedges. But this wasn’t bad either. Very far from! Minimarket is getting stronger, harder and more edgy now when they moved to CPH and I haven’t really had the time to melt it yet, but my love for them is still very strong.

Though it was hard to believe, knowing this song from so many cover versions, it was originally sung and introduced to the world by the one and only Fred Astaire. The movie in which it was performed it’s called Top Hat, all the way back in 1935! Famously performed by Fred Astaire while dancing with Ginger Rogers, the song celebrates the joys of being with someone you love dearly.

Anna Wintour’s Ex-Assistant Is Doing a Photography Exhibit on Fashion’s Night Out
It’s like Dawson’s Creek — 2010!
So now we know what became of Anna Wintour’s ex-assistant Claiborne Swanson, who started at Vogue in April of 2008. She’s a photographer! And this self-portrait is just one of the photographs you’ll see in the exhibit she’s hosting at Akris on Fashion’s Night Out. In the time since she started at Vogue, it looks like she’s gotten married, since she now goes by Claiborne Swanson Frank. Naturally, she wouldn’t want to give up a name as important as Swanson, when it’s on millions of TV dinners across the country. So she’s been a buyer, a Vogue assistant, and is now a photographer. What a charming life. Don’t you sometimes wish you could just go from one job to the next to Fashion’s Night Out like her and see where life takes you?

Best Dressed at the 2010 Emmy Awards
Television’s leading ladies definitely played it safe at the 62nd Annual Emmy Awards, but there was no shortage of beautiful gowns. Though black was the evening’s dominant color, navy and blush were also quite popular this year. Statement earrings were the night’s must have accessory; we especially loved Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ emerald pair! Glee wins our award for the best dressed cast, and Jimmy Fallon also deserves props for his dapper Tom Ford tuxedos. Here are some of the evening’s winning looks:

Michele wore an elegant midnight blue Oscar de la Renta gown, which she paired with custom dyed Brian Atwood shoes and a Swarovski satin clutch.
