Parabellum iPad Portfolio
Parabellum is catching the buyer’s eyes at some of the more high profile boutiques in the USA. The (free range) bison leather gives them a very distinct look – including on this iPad folio which also includes lambskin on the inner lining. The vertical two snap closure is a nice finish.

Victoria Beckham for Vogue Turkey
Victoria Beckham has just landed her a Vogue cover…for Turkey. The cover is a mix between Posh previous WAG days meets the new fashion-icon she is struggling to become. I haven’t seen the editorial from the magazine yet, but apparently it’s very glossy and glamorous and she’s wearing everything from her own (horrendous) wardrobe to different Turkish designers creations (yes, there is a reason to Turkey not going strong on the fashion map). According to Victoria, she loved the turkish designer clothes she got to wear for the magazine, they were very “avant-garde”, according to her : )
Cooper-Hewitt’s Awards Lunch With Michelle Obama and Tim Gunn
For this edition of Design Hunting, I traveled to Washington, D.C., for the Cooper-Hewitt’s National Design Awards luncheon; Michelle Obama was the honorary patron. The festivities included a cocktail party, a Teen Design Fair breakfast (featuring guest speaker Tim Gunn), and the luncheon itself, at which the First Lady delivered an impassioned speech. What a thrill! I also got a peek at photographer Priscilla Rattazzi’s delightful new book, Luna & Lola, and did some rubbernecking outside a Paul Smith window display. Kate Moss For Balmain Fall 2010 Ad Campaign
We all know how Kate Moss is busy, busy, busy. She still has time to honor her fashion engagements (besides her commercial ones). The first image from her fall winter 2010 2011 ad campaign for Balmain is now available.
Though I would’ve easily sworn it was Terry Richardson’s deed or, better – Juergen Teller, the campaign was shot by Inez and Vinoodh. (I sometimes sit and stare for minutes at a picture – especially from ad campaigns – wondering what the message would be. Since it only looks lazy to me, I can only hope it appeals differently to you – what do you see in this image?) (fd via fc)

George Logan – ‘Translocation’
CR turns us onto the work of George Logan, who’s latest project is entitled Translocation. The project, which took five years to make, sees African Wildlife relocated to ‘less predictable settings’. Speaking to Creative Review, he said that this project was inspired by the film Born Free, as well as the times he told new friends he was from Africa back in school:
“As I boy I’d tell tall tales to classmates and claim that I’d been raised on an African farm, surrounded by all sorts of exotic wildlife. It had me imagining how these creatures would appear in the rural Scottish landscapes I was familiar with. This project has allowed me to explore those early fantasies.”
