Denham shares two preview looks from their Autumn 2010 collection. The Duty and the Liner” jackets should be examined for details (in our gallery).”The Duty is based partly on the original M65 military field coat, but the finesse of the pocket-shapes and the visual minimization of the lower half of the garment also takes inspiration from a British para- trooper smock from WW2…The Liner’s unique approach to modularity is at the heart of the dockworker’s practical layering style. The reversible design was in- spired by a 1950’s hunting blouson. The 9-pocket outer construction derives directly from a WW2 USAF C-I Pilot’s Emergency Vest.”

Gitman Bros. Factory Tour & Spring 2011 Preview
Allplaidout took the drive out to Ashland, PA for a factory tour of the Gitman Bros. operation and its slightly strange location. “The state-of-the-art Gitman Bros. factory is built into the basement of Sheldon Gitman’s former home. The ladies who work in the first and second floor offices — really just converted bedrooms — use the pea green tiled bathroom as one of their break rooms. ‘How often do you find a microwave on the master bedroom sink?’ One of the women quipped. They seem to love the quirky aspects of their surroundings.”
They also got a preview shot of some of the forthcoming Gitman Vintage camo shirts for Spring 2011, as seen above. We’ll preview the full “Jungle Collection” shortly.

Luxist points us at this new G-Wagon from Mercedes-Benz that was unveiled at “Eurosatory Defense Exposition 2010″ – a clearly not so ordinary conference as you can tell based on the vehicle. “The G-Wagon LAPV 6.X Concept is the latest armored military version of the legendary sport-ute. Its common-rail diesel engine can propel it, along with all the armor plating and 2,866 lbs of cargo, up to a top speed of 150 kilometers per hour. It’s also got an adjustable suspension with 18 inches of ground clearance and enough attitude to make your enemies surrender without firing a single shot.” (luxist)

Dree Hemingway and Abbey Lee Have a Bag Fight in Karl Lagerfeld’s New Chanel Video
What to do when your room at the Grand Palais is so stuffed full of Chanel bags that you can’t move without tripping over them? Invite the sexy hotel porter to have a bag fight, obviously. In Karl Lagerfeld’s newly posted short film, “Shopping Fever,” Dree Hemingway and Abbey Lee play a pair of pampered young shoppers who enlist Baptiste Giabiconi to entertain them after a long day of pillaging the Chanel store, which so exhausts them that they must collapse among their 800-thread-count pillows for a nap at the end. No one’s winning an Oscar anytime soon, especially Dree, who flops about awkwardly on the couch in what we think is supposed to be a fit of petulance. However, the clothes are fabulous, particularly Abbey’s knit cap. Plus, seeing models tripping and falling over paper bags is always funny. [Official site]
