Neon, Twisted, and Off-Kilter Heels at United Nude
Though we’ve ogled photos of the backlit, futuristic displays at the just-opened United Nude flagship, this week we scoped out the spot’s real selling point: the shoes. (Okay, and maybe that crazy-looking Lamborghini — see slide 17.) The architect-designed footwear collection touts some serious statement pieces, like ankle boots in rainbow swirls, wedges with open-air heels, and multifaceted, gemstonelike pumps. Though it’s a destination for crazy kicks, most styles are also carried in basic black, for the color-shy New Yorkers among us. And despite a penchant for sculptural heels, you’ll also find an assortment of commute-ready options, like ballet flats in a slew of colors. Click ahead to check out some of the styles in store.

Paul Weller to Design for Pretty Green
NME reports that Paul Weller may be giving the Gallagher brother a helping hand with design for his Pretty Green label. As reported, the Jam mastermind seems to already be working on some looks which may well work out to be a signature line under the Pretty Green label. ” ‘I’ve got designs for suits, jackets, shoes – I’ve been talking to Liam about them,’ he explained. ‘It’s the same principle as what he’s [Gallagher] doing, really – stuff I’d wear myself.’ ”
This is not the first time that Weller has dipped into fashion. His love for Fred Perry is fairly well known.

Jean Paul Gaultier leaves Hermès
Jean Paul Gaultier will no longer be creative director after seven years at Hermès.
He’s being replaced by Christoph Lemaire, former creative director on Lacoste. The label announced that he will leave after the release of the s/s 2011 collection.
Makr Farm Rucksack
Makr delivers their take on the common ruck sack with this model from their “Farm” series. This is the second of three items from the “Farm” collection. Simple duck cotton and natural horse leather straps make up the bag. The leather is of course horween. The Makr rucksack will be available in three colors: natural, black, and brown. Heidi Klum and Seal to Counsel Couples in New Lifetime Show
Project Runway is the greatest thing to happen to Lifetime since the made-for-TV movie. And don’t they know it: The network has decided to spin the fashion-designer competition reality series off into two new shows. One will follow Heidi Klum as she travels around the country with her husband, Seal, providing couple’s counseling to plebeians across the nation. It’s tentatively titled Love’s Divine, which love must be when you’re the perfect Heidi Klum and Seal, and have nannies and personal trainers and all that to make life easier. This runs the risk of creating the same feelings of discomfort one might feel watching Heidi Klum give overweight people exercise tips.
In the other spinoff, we’ll see Project Runway alums Austin Scarlett and Santino Rice give makeovers to plebeians across America. We’d watch both series at least once.
