Warriors of Radness John’s WOR Walk Shorts

At Selectism, we’ve been fans of Warriors of Radness longer than most. The surf-inspired lines brand of humor and style continues to have great appeal, and their latest collaborative product finds the guys working with John’s of Japan. A simple name, John’s WOR, titles a simple collection of 1970s surf inspired garments. Colors are muted and subtle, all products are made in Los Angeles.
We’re fond on the Cord Walk Shorts, which come in three color options ranging from quite bold to a gray that even John Major might find appropriate. For those bolder of heart, the collaboration also features a richly printed trio of Tribal Walk Shorts.
Find the printed pairs after the jump, and find the entire collection at Reserve LA.

If Crystal Renn Lost Any Weight, It Wasn’t Because She Tried To

Apparently, People and its inner circle thought Crystal Renn looked a little thinner when she walked in the Chanel resort show. “[T]ongues began wagging that she was losing her signature curves,” People writes. They did? We didn’t notice, but sooner or later someone would wonder if she had dared to lose weight — perhaps the only time in modeling this would be viewed by the industry as a bad thing.
“She is not trying to lose weight at all,” her Ford Models agent tells PEOPLE. “She fluctuates between a 10 and a 14.” At the moment, she seems to be on the lower end of that range, in part, her agent says, because she’s been so active recently. “She went hiking in Patagonia for three weeks over the holidays and she firmed up and got a little smaller,” he says. “She has also been traveling like crazy and tends to be smaller when that happens.”
Yeah, what is she supposed to do — leave life behind in favor of sitting in a chair next to the refrigerator? Actually, if we were paid to be curvy, that’s so something we would do.

Norse Projects Chambray Shirt

We love Norse Projects here at Selectism. This chambray shirt from their Spring/Summer collection is a favorite in this editor’s closet. Need Supply has it in stock Stateside. “Chambray button down with a one-wash treatment. Pockets at chest with button closures.” A sailor shirt? Not really. It’s more like a lounger. Rock it.

Neon, Twisted, and Off-Kilter Heels at United Nude

Though we’ve ogled photos of the backlit, futuristic displays at the just-opened United Nude flagship, this week we scoped out the spot’s real selling point: the shoes. (Okay, and maybe that crazy-looking Lamborghini — see slide 17.) The architect-designed footwear collection touts some serious statement pieces, like ankle boots in rainbow swirls, wedges with open-air heels, and multifaceted, gemstonelike pumps. Though it’s a destination for crazy kicks, most styles are also carried in basic black, for the color-shy New Yorkers among us. And despite a penchant for sculptural heels, you’ll also find an assortment of commute-ready options, like ballet flats in a slew of colors. Click ahead to check out some of the styles in store.
United Nude, 25 Bond St., nr. Lafayette St.; 212-420-6000.
