Seize sur Vingt Pique Polo Shirts
The problem with polo shirts is that sometimes you get mistaken for a landscaper. Or, worse, someone who rates Vineyard Vines apparel.
The pique polo shirt from Seize sur Vingt won’t put you in either position. The collar has shape, a true identity, and the buttons are pronounced without distraction. Additionally, they’ve hunted down a fine “Filio di Scozia” Egyption Cotton yarn for the fabric, which wears well and looks appropriately refined.
The only thing in common with other polo shirts are two key options – Seize sur Vingt offers a choice of solid or micro stripes.

Design Hunting at New York Design Week
Early May is the highlight of the design year in New York, with a two-week blizzard of shows, events, and parties from Brooklyn to the Javits Center, to the meatpacking district and beyond! The energy was great this time, as everyone rallied from the bleak fallout of recession with design that was more sustainable than that of years past, and often refreshingly subversive. I saw a ton of fun, innovative work at every price level across the city. Here are some highlights from my hunting.

MAKR for Acrimony Two Tone Flap Wallet
We have sung the praises of the MAKR flap wallet many times over (full disclosure: I’ve been using mine for a year now – jc). The Horween leather wallet turns buttery soft after about a month’s wear. Looks like Acrimony loves them as well. They have just worked with MAKR on a two tone version of the wallet. We’re sure Acrimony will have them in stock shortly.

Patricia Field Is Preparing a Crazy Swim Show With Bathing Suits You Can’t Swim In
The Sex and the City 2 press juggernaut has the film’s stylist, Patricia Field, exhausted. “It’s wearing me down, wearing me out, trampling all over me,” she said at the Villagecare Tulips & Pansies Headdress Affair, where House of Field sent Pat Cleveland down the runway in a sequined minidress from their Keith Haring–inspired collection, topped off with a giant floral Afro by Tantawan Bloom.
But she’s not too tired to take advantage of all that publicity — House of Field swimwear, eyewear, and beach towels launches with a party and fashion show on May 25, the day after the SATC2 premiere. “We had this opportunity to develop a swimwear collection, and it just seemed fitting with the movie because we had been doing a lot of swim looks in the film last fall, and it just seemed to be organic,” House of Field designer David Dalrymple explained backstage.
The swim line has eighteen looks, with prices ranging from $90 to $150. “It’s beachwear, swimwear to look gorgeous in, to create a sensation around the pool in,” Field said. “It will also swim,” she added, unlike the outrageous looks the Blonds will show at the May 25 party. Dalrymple describes those as “cute little sequined swimsuits that you really can’t get wet, but, you know, they’re in the shape of a swimsuit.” Turkish designer Ivana Sert, who designed the swimwear that Kim Cattrall wears in the movie, will also show some pieces.
Perfumes Are Poisonous?
There was something bothering me for quite some time: I’ve developed an extra care syndrome (I think it goes beyond attention, beyond care, I think it’s maniac behavior already) to check the labels of many (if not all) the products we buy. It’s something I depicted from a very close cousin who opened my eyes on labels.
Since the first time I laid eyes on my cosmetics labels, I freaked out. Properly. Have you checked your vanity? See how many parabens, acetyls and so many other synthetic substances make your “beauty” product “work”? How about if you check your perfume’s label? See what the magic liquor is really made of? What? There is no ingredients label? Oooh, that’s right! There’s no ingredients label on perfumes! Why is that? (don’t miss the perfumes with real chances of harming us right after the jump!)

It’s summertime on our magazines stands. Everything revolves around the beach and the sun. Vogue Paris June July 2010 issue comes with such a sunny cover, I can barely look at it without my shades on.
It’s Kate Moss wearing a golden swimsuit, heavy makeup and her usual gorgeousness glow. It’s by far more fashionable and beautiful than Blake Lively’s Vogue US. But let’s not judge a magazine by its cover only, let’s see the goodies inside. (which are – I must warn you – very photographic!
