Jimmy Choo’s Tamara Mellon Gives us the Boot
Last Thursday we stopped by the Jimmy Choo Madison Avenue boutique to check out the Choo 24:7 collection and chat with Tamara Mellon. And it was a long time coming;the event had been initially scheduled in February, but was canceled due to a snow storm. Then it was moved again to late April, but Mellon was stranded in London as a result of the volcano. Mellon, who was in town for the Met Gala, shared some of her favorites from the Fall 2010 collection and unveiled some of the brand’s latest boots. “If you buy only one shoe for fall I suggest you go for an ankle boot that can be worn with everything, whether its a pair of jeans or an amazing dress,” she said. Mellon also expounded on the merits of over the knee boots. “They are very flattering on the leg; wearing a soft leather or beige suede pair is an instant way to look sexy.” She’s also thrilled to see the return of a classic pump. “They’re really cool again!” Mellon’s date for the Met Gala was also really cool; she attended on the arm of Usher. “He’s used to alot of fashion events and looked incredible in Tom Ford; we were totally in awe of Lady Gaga!,” she gushed. Givenchy Campaign 2010
Fashion house Givenchy are using a transgender model for their fall/winter 2010 ads. The Brazilian model Lea T, (former Leo) is also Riccardo Tisci personal assistant. This is was Tisci said about the campaign: “She’s always been very feminine: superfragile, very aristocratic. She’s part of the family.”

Christina Aguilera Likes Latex Because She Can ‘Lubricate It Up’
Christina Aguilera hasn’t said much about the costumes for the upcoming tour for her new album Bionic, which begins in July. We don’t know if she’ll employ gagging devices or studded blindfolds or whips (we’re guessing yes, yes, and yes) but she has revealed she’ll wear latex. She spoke to the Telegraph:
“It just fits the body so well,” she coos, “and it’s very simple. And it’s very graphic-looking on camera and film. So that ended up being a lot of my go-to choices for this record. It’s very slick, it shines. You can lubricate it up.”
Sounds cozy. Those other pesky fabrics have the nerve to absorb moisture. Gross.
