Starck + Intersection Magazine Soapbox Car

In an interesting project French designer Philippe Starck got together with Intersection Magazine to build a soapbox car. The car comes without engine, without steering and without brakes and as you can imagine, looks beautiful. Thankfully they provide a video with the presentation of the car, so that one gets a better idea of how it all works.
In the upcoming issue of Intersection Magazine you will find an extensive interview with the designer, as well as lots more background information on the project.
Take a look at the video here below.

Eight Summer Shoes For Every Guy

R29 rounds up a wide selection of Summer shoes for the boys to rock on the streets and shores. “We think the weather has finally changed, for realsies this time. The flowers are blooming, couples are displaying obnoxious PDA in the street and bare legs are just about everywhere. While gals are rockin’ sky-high wedges with their cut-offs, let’s not forget about how dudes can switch it now that the boots are finally stowed away. It’s time for some seersucker appropriate mocs, rooftop barbecue kicks, and the perfect boat shoes for our seaside jaunts, all in colors both crazy-bold and laid-back-neutral.”

Meet a Woman With 3,000 (Mostly Designer) Vintage Dresses

Charlotte Smith (third from left) at the launch party for her book, Dreaming of Dior.
Charlotte Smith, the curator of the Fashion and Textile Gallery in Sydney, inherited over 3,000 dresses from her godmother, Doris. The collection came with a catalogue of notes detailing the stories that revolved around each frock and the woman who wore it. Her book, Dreaming of Dior, pairs these stories with illustrations of the clothing in her collection. Charlotte brought one rolling rack’s worth of her collection to the 92YTribeca this week, where she showed them off for an audience of all women, save one dude.
Pulling a black raw silk Dior cocktail dress from the sixties, she told us how Doris sent her the frock when she was working in Paris. “I never thought I would wear it!” Charlotte joked before reaching for a sequined pink knitted minidress she wore to lunch with the curator of the Philadelphia Art Museum when she was 19, and again to her book’s launch party this past Friday.
Cole Haan FLX with Nike Technology Makes it Easily to Step Stylishly
Cole Haan recently launched their new collection of men’s and women’s footwear and accessories that have been re-thought, re-worked, and re-imagined to address the needs of a high style, high performance way of life…like speedy shoe removal at airport security. The single rear zipper on this zippy gladiator makes it easy to slip them on and off, whether you're catching a flight or just getting dressed at the gym. Other touches like stretch laces and elastic at the heel showcase forward thinking in the 16 different shoe styles, while unlined construction makes for lighter weight, more breathability, and increased flexibility. Nike crosstrainer-inspired outsoles provide added comfort for walking, with ports that let air through, keeping feet dry and happy; the footbed of the women's sandals can even be removed or flipped over for a different look. Available at ColeHaan.com.

Heidi Klum Dishes in Redbook
Whether she’s hosting Project Runway, walking the Victoria's Secret runway (post-baby) in underwear, designing jewelry, Birkenstocks & maternity fashions, or launching a beauty line, Heidi Klum has singlehandedly redefined the model as megabrand.
In the June issue of REDBOOK (on newsstands May 25), the supermodel-turned-reality-TV-hostess chats happiness, marriage, and staying "hot" for hubs. “I don’t know why I got so lucky," she explains about her spouse, Seal. "I have to pinch myself often and say, 'Is this just a dream?' Not only do I love my husband for the obvious reasons (ahem, his sex appeal), but also he is one of the kindest, most loving men I have ever met. He is sexy to me because he is fearless and not afraid to show his emotions. He is a supersexy, hot kisser and…he is sexy to me because he can be singing in front of 25,000 people one minute and, the next, be changing our daughter’s diaper…When is he the most sexy and handsome? Hmmmm… in our bedroom.”
The two apparently renew their vows annually, in a Samuel-Klum clan affair. “Each year, Heidi and I get remarried," explains Seal. "It’s a great party, but for about an hour, we go off on our own down to a private beach. We sit there with the kids and read vows to each other as the sun sets. It’s a very special moment to us.”
Britney Spears Designed Collection For Candie’s
Just a little while back we were graced with the non-retouched Candie’s ads featuring Britney Spears. Released at Britney’s personal demand, the photos wanted to ease up the perfection pressure put on women around the world.
The buzz created around those images seemed to be the perfect timing for Britney Spears and Candie’s to launch the surprise announcement: Britney designed a collection for them! A limited collection for Candie’s set to premiere this very July with prices from $24 to $58. Taking her personal style into consideration and her troubled, troubled life, I really wonder what the collection will look like! (via, photos via 1, 2, photochopping courtesy Stylefrizz)
